Welcome to The Retreat, a rehabilitation center funded by Saint Mungo's hospital and set within the coastal land of Sussex, where the sun statistically shines 600 more hours than the rest of England. We proudly boast a well trained staff of medi-witches, counselors, and doctors specializing in psychological counseling while, at the same time, providing a healthy and nurturing sense of community and family.
The Retreat was created with our magical community in mind. These past years have been traumatic for our entire population and we understand that it takes a village to help one another. So a little village has been created with healing and rehabilitation in mind.
At least, that was the information given. What the pretty brochure won't say, however, is that the head doctor is a bit of a bored masochist with a god-complex, magic within The Retreat has been nearly nullified, paranoia isn't just a symptom of Post Traumatic Stress, and there's hidden cameras set up everywhere, even behind the two-way mirrors!
So won't you please join us in our pseudo-quest for mental wellness in a post-war world, where even though the Dark Lord is dead, the victims of the second war can't all escape the fact that they'll always be someone else's pawn and plaything.
Done and Dusted is an AU Harry Potter game set in 2002, with its canon point divergence being post-HBP. So while the war ended and Harry did his hero thing, it didn't necessarily have such a neat and happy ending. We all know that major events such as this has an effect on people in both positive and negative ways. This game's intention is to explore the more messy and unpretty effects and how it affects both the characters and those around them.
Patients will not be able to use magic on the Retreat premises, and have no idea that the person in charge has every intention of ensuring mental wellness won't be achieved.
Wanted: Draco Malfoy, Ron Weasley, Hermione Granger, DEATH EATERS, and especially staff positions (aurors and counselors)! Original characters are also very welcome.
