Yeah, Alex was kind of a fuck up. He knew it. He did impulsive things, but whenever he really thought about the world of trouble it could bring down on the people he cared about - and that included everyone at Zaragoza - he felt pretty shitty. He would never forgive himself if his friends or family suffered because of him. Of course, feeling shitty brought on his shitty coping mechanisms, so he didn't exactly spend a lot of time dwelling on it.
He huffed a kind of laugh when Dante said this wasn't the excitement she was looking for. No, it probably wasn't. At her question, he kind of gave her a side glance. "Well, there was a race..." he mentioned. "But if you've got to get this finished, I could stay and work on it," he offered. He'd never leave her hanging. She was an old friend and treated him well. He'd do whatever he could to help her out.
