Question: Wait, something seems off here. Are the workers…?
Answer: Yep, the workers are leprechauns. Yes, there’s magic at play. Yes, the food is real. And yes, there is a luck enchantment on the event. No, the Center doesn’t know that this happened (at least, it wasn’t officially requested).
Question: What’s with the good/bad luck?
Answer: Basically what it says on the packaging. People who get a coin will find that more positive opportunities seem to come their way. These opportunities aren’t going to be huge, like winning the lottery, but will be smaller things like consistently catching buses and trains or just so happening to have the last five dollars of a shopping bill in your pocket. Those who cause problems and get kicked out will find the opposite to be true. Missed buses, difficulty getting cabs, holes in pockets or socks, etc. Both of these changes will last for exactly 14 days. The only exception would be if someone who got a coin loses it (which would be exceedingly difficult). Their luck will immediately revert to normal. If they find it before the 14 days are up, their luck will increase until the original 14 days pass. So, if someone got a coin, lost it on day 3, and found it on day 7, they would still have 7 days left of luck. If they lost it on day 1 and found it on day 13, they’d have one more day of luck.
Question: Is it only people who look sad or down on their luck who get a coin?
Answer: For the most part, yes. However, people who are seen doing good deeds at the event will also receive a coin (i.e. if someone sees a child drop their food and gives the kid what’s on their own plate, they’ll both get coins). Other exceptions can be made, too, but that’s on a case by case basis. For example, if someone gets up and does an accurate Irish jig, a worker will laugh hysterically and give them a coin. If you’d like to see if your character can get a coin for doing something, ping the mods.
Question: Can my character figure out that the workers are leprechauns?
Answer: Sure! Just know that the workers will deny it. At least, verbally. Your character may get a wink with the denial, but there isn’t any kind of reward associated with figuring them out.
Question: Can my character be a troublemaker?
Answer: Sure! They’ll get the temporary curse and all that, but if your character wants to cause a problem, go for it!
Question: My character didn’t go to the feast, but they did go to the parade and helped break up a fight/caused a fight. Could they have been blessed/cursed?
Answer: No. As far as the game is concerned, the leprechauns were only at the feast.
Question: You jerkfaces didn't answer my question.
Answer: Okay! Put it under the comment with the heading "Questions" please!
Happy gaming!
