Alright, so, this is Divisions' first official Activity Check. There will be a text box at the end that will have the information that you'll need to fill out for your characters regarding activity for this month. Since it is the first month, we're including a few reminders on the guidelines for activity. Please respond to this post by Sunday, March 7th.
4) Activity requirement: one thread/log a month per character. This must be a piece of collaborative writing, and no it can't have only literally 1-2 comments on it all month (this is different for Gdocs posted logs as the mods recognize multiple tags may have already happened in the main post text). Narratives can be used for AC but can only be used 1 time every 3 months per each individual character (Example: I have characters A, B & C, for my AC I write narratives for all three characters, I CAN NOT use a narrative for AC for ANY of my characters until two more months have passed). The first failed AC, without timely mod contact or hiatus notice posted to the OOC and communicated with the mods, will result in any characters that have not passed AC being removed from the game immediately. If all the player's characters fail AC, the player will be removed from the game as well. If a player is continually barely making activity checks, the mods do reserve the right to have a conversation with the player about what is going on. Activity Checks will be around the first of the month every month. A post will be made for you to tag into, which will be open for 7 days. We're not putting a number of comments needed on the log requirement of AC but if this trust is abused we will change that.
In regards to the narrative portion of that rule, we believe an example may be helpful. Mits used narratives for Tobias and Sammy for February. Per the rules, he will not be able to use narratives for AC for those two characters until May's Activity Check at the earliest. He can still use narratives for Hector and/or James for March or April's activity, but if he did, he'd have to wait until the third month after those narratives to do so again.
The second thing we want to bring up is regarding characters brought in beyond the halfway point of the month. Characters who are brought in later than halfway through the month are not held to activity requirements for that month. For example, James was approved on February 15th or later, then James would not have needed a narrative this month.
Please also keep in mind that a thread can only be used to satisfy requirements for one month. A thread started in February, but finished in March, can only be used for one of those months. Basically, no double dipping threads.
Remember, the mods are people, too. We know how stressful life has been for the past year. If you're having problems meeting AC and come to us before the Activity Check is posted, we're happy to work with any of you to make sure no characters are removed. We’re happy to give people AC passes as long as there is a conversation happening with the mods, even if it’s as minor as something like “I think work might be high stress this month and I think I’ll make AC but I just don’t want the stress of *having* to make AC”. However, once again, please don’t abuse this, abuse would consist of making this request three consecutive months in a row.
Lastly, the week of AC cannot be used to satisfy the previous month's activity requirements. For example, you cannot post a new thread on March 1st, the beginning of Activity Check, and have it count for February.
Please copy and paste the following information in a comment below with your name in the title of the comment. Please put all of your characters in one comment to help with organization.
Cordially,
~Divisions Mods
