Question:Can this event be investigated?
Answer! Sure can! Do you live in the building? Did you hear the noises? Was your neighbor bitching about noises in their building? Were you walking by and head something? All of these aspects - as long as they area reasonably feasible for your character to be around during that time (1am), you can feel free to email in or drop a question on this post to investigate the event.
Question! Why do I care about investigating this event?
Answer! At any time the plot of Divisions can be changed by the players if they choose to interact with the plot enough. This includes investigating events we put up. If no one ever investigates plot will continue to run as we planned it, if someone investigates the mods will give clues and may even allow players to completely circumvent future planned events.
Question! I don't want to mess up your plot plans!!! *gasp, shock*
Answer! Nope! You're not messing up our plot plans at all. We *want* people to interact with plots, we're happy to pivot and change plot plans if a player/character stops something from happening in game plot.
Question! Do I get rewards from this?
Answer! Depends on what you do. Walk by a building and hear noises and do nothing? No rewards. Investigate and try to figure out what's going on and possibly circumvent the bad guys plans? REWARD!
Question! This is written kinda oddly, are you okay?
Answer! Bad sleep this weekend, my apologies if any of this odd, I'm only trying to convey what I assume is helpful information in a humorous way.
Question! So what can I do?
Answer! Well, the event has already been posted as happening, so you can have spied on the event, you could have walked by it hearing weird noises, etc. If you're unsure if something makes sense your mods are happy to have a discussion about what makes sense or doesn't based on the information provided in the narrative already posted.
Question! So I could break the entire plot for the year by investigating things and you'd be totally cool with it?
Answer! Yup, this is a mutually creative space and while we - your mods - hold control over what exists in the world we're pretty open most of the time and generally will try to work with people as long as it's within generally commonly acceptable logic or can be explained away in a way that makes sense. Example: I want to wash the entire basement of dirt and search for tiny clues, can I do that? --- If you have a character with good control on water powers, or about 16hrs free to do the manual labor required to clean the space along with coming up with a successful reason to get into the building, you can spend all the time searching around in that basement you want and you will find clues.
Question! You jerks, my question isn't answered here!
Answer! Then please ask it in the comment labeled "Questions" below!
Happy gaming folks! :D
