Dance Floor: James and Luke: After Date Auction
James was feeling the tiniest bit down. Part of him had considered signing up for the date auction since it had been so long since his last one. He knew, though, that he wasn't ready for something like that. Not to mention a pseudo blind date sounded even less appealing than getting a date from an online profile, which he also didn't want. Overall, though, he was having a pretty good time. The music was decent, the people were having fun, and the food was good. While empaths and others who could read mood would notice that there was an underlying unhappiness, most would just take the smile on his face for what it was.
At the moment, he was standing near the dance floor munching on a cookie. He was almost done with it, and fully intended to get another because it was surprisingly delicious. But first, he was hoping to find someone, a friend preferably, to dance with to work off some of the negativity in his mind. He didn't want to go home with the tiny bit of unhappiness, lest he accidentally let it fester. With a final bite and swallow of the cookie, finishing it off, he began turning his head, looking around for any familiar faces who he could dance with. As he was thinking about maybe finding a coworker, if one made it, he saw Luke and grinned. James figured he'd get a kick out of dancing, so he walked over.
"Wanna dance?" Was said as soon as he got there and got Luke's attention.
