Nehi & Open: Park wandering
The day meant nothing to Nehi, not here. This was where he lived for the time being, but it wasn't home. Home was still across the ocean, in a different hemisphere, where life was lived with a beat that his heart and feet knew the rhythm of.
Here it was different, but a party, even a sedate one was enough to pull Nehi out and into the park. The parade was not of interest, but being outside, amongst the trees and all living things? Yeah, he loved that. Even the trees here, that were so different than the one that he loved, than all the ones that his family were tied to, were still close enough o be cousins and he enjoyed both their shade and their growth.
It was early yet, and there were a few families already scattered around, picking out the best spots beneath the trees. More were waiting along the line for the parade, but he was content to wander in his shorts and bright colored button down, light enough for a day that promised heat.
