I was on the LIRR going to Ronkonkoma (way, way, way out on Long Island), and I was sitting next to this guy who got on at JFK. He had just gotten in from the Netherlands, and he was showing me Dutch newspapers and the photographs he had taken. He was a biophysics engineering grad school student, and probably one of the most interesting, smart people I've ever met. We hooked up in the bathroom of the train, which makes him a single-serving friend with benefits, I guess, and we exchanged numbers... but I never called him again, and I forgot his name.
Cool guy.
Also, random, but did I ever tell you about how I saw Edward Norton on the street?
