presidents in the past have been so out of touch with the average person and their daily lives, it's ridiculous. let's not forget george bush sr's amazement in a supermarket checkout scanner. this is a step in the right direction. no matter what his extremely informed cabinet tells him is going on, it's different to hear it from the point of view of someone who is personally affected and hit very hard. obviously 10 letters a day will not sum up the plights of americans, but it is just one extra source of information that will help him in making the right decisions for our country.
