i used the us as an example because it's the most obvious one. it bears repeating that i admit there is racism here - on a small scale. it's not "brushed under the rug" - it's not like that. i can't properly explain it to someone who's never been here, but racism doesn't fit into scotland like it does in a lot of other countries. it's hardly what you'd call a multicultural society. we don't have those evil darkies to rage against.
