so i'm watching true life, and it makes me wonder... when they show the people using drugs, can they get busted for it after it airs? like if a camera crew tried to film me doing drugs for it to air on television i would be like gtfo haha.

i never thought about that, but you'd think they could. they're openly doing drugs on tv so there's proof of them doing it. i wonder.

I never understood how that works. I mean, especially on MTV. They show people openly doing drugs, drinking underage...how is that even possible? They
have
to get busted, right?! Ugh, I wish I knew the answer to that. It boggles my mine every time I see an episode like that

i think in order to get arrested you either have to be in possession of illegal drugs or be under the influence of illegal drugs. so they wouldn't get arrested for what they did previously but maybe police would say the footage is enough evidence to believe they possess illegal substances and could search their house or car. i doubt anything really comes of it though.

Drug laws only apply to possession/sale and being under the influence. Video evidence of taking drugs is not enough for an arrest, although it would likely be enough for a search warrent, but the people on those shows are likely granted deals.
