So about three months ago, I moved out of my moms house and into an apartment with a girl I work with. My mom was moving out of state and I didn't want to move with her, so I found a roommate and we got a 2 bedroom 2.5 bath townhouse together. My roommate Lori and I aren't friends really, we never hang out or anything, besides like seeing each other at work. I have a dog, she tolllld me I could get a dog and that it would be ok with her, but now that I have Bailey, she acts like she hates the dog, even though the dog never does anything terribly wrong. And she gets like super bitchy when EVERYTHING isnt PERFECTLY clean, even if she is the one that made the mess I always feel like somehow it is my fault. Shes really nice and everything, dont get me wrong, but she is one of those people that make you feel like you have to apologize for everything and say youre sorry a lot. Anyway, so my other friend just got a one bedroom apartment in our apartment complex and its like brand new inside and she is only paying 10 dollars more a month than I am for her apartment. I want my own apartment so bad, so I dont have to worry about bothering anyone or my dog doing anything wrong or anything like that. But we are in a 14 month lease, I know Lori could find another roommate, but I dont want to seem like a bitch when I tell her I want my own place :( Plus, more than half of the furniture in the apartment is mine (the only thing that is hers downstairs is the entertainment center, I contributed the sectional couch, the coffee table, the tv, the comfy huge red chair and ottoman, and the kitchen table and chairs), I'd feel bad if I moved out and left her with no furniture... idk why I would feel bad tho. I pay 30 dollars EXTRA a month than her because my room is SLIGHTLY bigger than hers, but she uses allll of the furniture and stuff (I seriously never go downstairs or sit on the couch or anything, when we are both home at the same time I pretty much stay in my room with the door shut) and doesn't think its fair that since I contributed most of the furniture that I shouldnt have to pay extra for the big room?
What do I do? How do I say I want my own apartment without seeming like a bitch? Obviously I wouldn't leave her without someone to take over my half of the lease, but I just dont want to seem like a cunt. Lol, thanks div!
