Sitting on the opposite side of the booth, Angel didn't care about people staring. They had done forever, whenever she wasn't covering them with a coat or sweater. Each person had a different reaction and they each deserved to have a reaction. At the same time, though, that dark voice in her head always made social situations worse. It whispered in her ear trying to make her angry. Wanda kept her eyes on Lis though, her fun energy and freedom had always been something to keep her grounded when she started losing control.
Wanda pursed her lips for a moment. "You're just saying that... I know they're nothing compared to when they were white. Sometimes I wish they'd just go back." She folded her hands on the table and smiled.
"Yes. I was assigned to act as the Public Relations representative for the mayor. So nothing too different than I have done. What about you? Did they give you anything fun to do?"
