An arch look- all eloquent brows and a flutter of lashes that were, for once, entirely natural and not boasting any additions or enhancements- said exactly what Peggy thought of that. She was sneaky, but they all were in their own way. It was a matter of seeing the finer angles, the details that people often carelessly missed, and Peggy had always been more observant than anyone gave her credit for. Courtesy of a pretty face, she supposed, but there were far worse consequences than being thought silly or frivolous.
But it was all teasing, a joke shared between friends, and she let it go with only that look and a little huff of breath through her nose. It was close enough to a laugh and the curve of her lips spoke of fondness rather than offense, and she had a perfectly good breakfast to enjoy instead of poking her companion into silly dares that would only ruin his digestion.
"Tony," she assured with a clink of cutlery against her plate, "Is not my type, regardless of whether or not he's still insisting that he's everyone's type and the rest of us just haven't realized it yet." She shook her head, nose wrinkling a fraction. "Those insufferable nicknames alone are enough to drive me mad, and not in a good way." Peggy liked her dignity too much to allow nicknames and teasing, silly games that she found undermining to her fragile authority.
Reaching for her coffee, she gently tweaked the kitten's tail. "Nothing terribly exciting, I'm afraid. Gossip says Ten will have a new escort this year, though I've not heard any kind of confirmation. Might be worth stopping through on the way back home to see if there's any truth to it." Travel was easy, if not exactly the stuff of which relaxation was made. She'd have to go back to visit her father again soon, too. He kicked up a fuss if she spent too much downtime away without good reason.
