"No thanks," Steve said quickly, because that always felt like cheating, using a Capitol cream or tonic to heal an injury - especially when it was something the people in the districts would never be able to afford. Steve had the money to afford it now, but that didn't make him any more deserving than everyone around him, and it didn't feel right to take advantage in that way. He felt guilty enough for always having enough food on the table these days; he couldn't stomach the idea of utilizing the rest of the Capitol's luxuries on top of that.
Peggy's second suggestion was much, much more up Steve's alley, and he felt the tips of his ears turning red. "That's - I wouldn't say no to that," he murmured. "Although maybe - should we finish dinner first?" They still had half-full plates in front of them, and seated as they were, this really wasn't the best set up for anything more than gentle touches. Steve certainly couldn't get as close to Peggy as he would have liked, and it seemed silly to attempt such activities across a kitchen table when there was a perfectly good couch just a few yards away.
"Unless you're done," Steve added, his words almost a question. "We could - shepherd's pie keeps pretty well in the fridge, so." He swallowed, and his hand slid down so his fingers could curl just beneath her chin, his thumb skimming along the lower edge of her lip.
