Clint was a hugger by nature, so it shouldn't have been a surprise when he yanked Steve into a tight embrace, but it was a frantic enough grab that it still caught Steve off guard. He didn't pull away though, because the way Clint was clutching at him - that would've been downright cruel of him. So he just gave a little nod from where his head was pressed to Clint's chest and let his hands settle around Clint's waist.
"I am," he agreed quietly. "I am serious. I've always been serious, just... didn't have the support before." Which, maybe that was overstating things a little, since any support he was getting from Scott or Stark was tentative, at best, and the districts weren't nearly organized enough to be all that useful yet. But the possibility was there, and Steve was determined to grab it with both hands, so as to keep it from passing him by.
"Hey," he added gently, when Clint lifted a hand to his cheek, "I ain't planning on going anywhere. I wanna see this thing through, and that means coming out the other side of it, all right?" And he did want to see the end of this, desperately. And as far as a cost-benefit analysis went, Steve was pretty sure he was worth more to the cause alive. That might not have been the case a few years ago, but it was the case now, and so no, he wasn't planning on throwing his life away to make a statement.
