Some things are too good to last.
Who: Everyone Where: The centre of Sedona When: Midday What: Tragedy and explosions. Why: Iscariot need to make a statement. Rating: PG-13 for death destruction and likely swearing.
It was a hot Sedona noon, the sun was high in the sky and people bustled around the weekly market, the past attacks were not forgotten, but now the rebuilding of the destruction was underway and people had some hope that they were now safe. Many were happier now the law had changed hands, the older generation who despised change and had disliked Jane's position of power. Now people were almost confident they were safe. The events with Belle's death, and the death of Cedric had caused much personal heartache and though Iscariot was to blame, their eyes turned to the Victorian Company, they watched and wondered and slowly seeds of hatred were growing. But as long as the local police force worked with them, the people restrained their feelings, the squat office in the centre of town had history, respect it was a symbol to the people that they had some power, it was a symbol...
People were thrown to the ground with the impact of the explosion, shrapnel ripped through the cloth of the market stalls, people began to scream, remembering the events of the last explosion terrified. Yet it did not last long, as the dust settled people stared, trying to see what had been damaged, what has been targeted. A shudder ran through the crowd, the law office had been decimated, flattened, corpses could be seen littering the rubble, lawmen and prisoners alike, twisted and misshapen even from a distance it was clear they were dead.
One wall stood intact the whitewashed wall of a cell, upon this wall was a message, written with a brush in bold red paint. Those who aid the VC will be punished as these men have been. Rise up! Take your freedom with both hands! To live is to be free!
The message spread like fire amongst the crowd, people were clearing the building, women were wailing and crying, but a feeling, a recaction was growing, that this was the fault of the Victorian Company, they did not protect them, they only caused the continual loss of life and increased suffering.
Those from the Victorian Company who saw this event ran back to their superiours, terrified, Iscariot was this strong, this able and so determined. They had easily destroyed a symbol of this town, and the Victorian Company's last shred of credibility.
