Who? Michael and Jo What? Helping with the effects of leaving Heaven Where? Jo's room When? Immediately after their network conversation. Rating? Not high.
Michael had little idea why so many new people had been arriving to the side of Good. It seemed to him that it was either a good sign (they were going to win, it was going to be easy, their numbers would overpower the Evil and the Darkness would be destroyed for good) or a bad one - if they were getting so many new recruits, what was going on in the enemy’s camp?
The touch of Heaven on one of the newer arrivals had drawn him in, even over their crystal communication devices. Michael was not drawn by emotional turmoil or emptiness or pain, because those things meant little to him. But the lingering feeling of Home had caught his attention, and he had decided to do what he could to help the young woman who bore that mark. It wasn’t out of some deep sympathy for her, it was practicality. She would never be able to function appropriately if she kept longing for her true Home.
She had said she was in her room, which meant it was probably a safe place to meet her, and she had not said he could not come immediately, so he did not hesitate. One moment he was standing in his own quarters, crystal in his hands, and the next he was standing inside her room, hands and crystal shoved in the pockets of his jacket, his arrival unannounced - no sound or light accompanying his presence until he spoke.
