I've been giving this registration thing some thought and have some suggestions to possibly encourage registration:
1. Snacks and/or drinks to those standing in line. Tis the season for alcohol-free egg nog and candy canes. 2. Some reassurance on protecting the privacy of citizens. Who has access to the information? What is being done to protect it? 3. Prizes for people standing in line. Every 50th person gets a gift certificate to Honeyduke's. 4. Reassurance that resources aren't being directed from hunting fugitives. Would the DMLE be turning up at establishments to check IDs when Undesirable No. 1 is still out there? 5. More cameras for more opportunities to retake one's picture. 6. The Minister should visit the line, perhaps to dissuade accusations that he is a puppet. Mayhaps he can come whilst dressed as Santa...? 7. Reassurance on the integrity of the program. It appears to be a reaction to recent events. Perhaps if we can know whether it's been in development for longer. 8. Foot massages and cloakcheck. Standing in line can be hard work. 9. Reassurance that those missing work to get their IDs won't face disciplinary actions at their jobs.
