I have spent a good few days working on planting my tulip bulbs for next year and pondering this, but I feel I am finally ready to announce that I will also be throwing my hat in the proverbial ring for the vacant Wizengamot seat and the chance to represent the people of Tinworth.
This is a decision I feel very strongly about. To introduce myself to those who do not know me - I was originally born in Ireland and upon leaving Hogwarts I spent a while on the professional duelling circuit. I held the title of champion of Great Britain for almost a decade before moving into teaching. It has been almost a decade since Tinworth welcomed my son and I with open arms after the sad passing of my beloved wife. In that time I have found the community to be lively, interesting and constantly changing. As a retiree I feel I have a great deal of time to dedicate to the people of Tinworth, as well as the passion to see their needs safeguarded. In my spare time I am a keen gardener and during his school holidays I like to spend time with my son, Theodore.
Our society is one that is brimming with ideas and developments, some of which I do believe can be the good of our kind. I would like to run on a platform of promoting public safety, monitoring and acting upon the threat of subversive activity and simply being an approachable representative for the area. Amongst the many ideas I would like to propose I have been giving consideration to the forming of a Neighbourhood Watch Association for the area. I will be detailing more about this and my other proposed initiatives in the near future.
To kick off my campaign I will be welcoming visitors this Sunday afternoon to my cottage for some tea, cake and some chat about how we all feel about our town. I would love to hear people's concerns, ideas and work out a cooperative way to improve life for everyone.
I note that Mr. Robards has also announced his candidacy on this platform and I look forward to a clean and productive campaign process leading up to the vote. No doubt he is also keen to fill his spare time with the opportunity to represent us all.
Thank you for your time.
