Not even Death Eaters control the march of time and the 22nd of September marks the first day of autumn and, most importantly, Hogsmeade's annual Mabon street festival.
The main street of Hogsmeade is decked out in less than tasteful autumn attire, but it's really the stalls that are the star of the night. There's a stall for nearly everything wizarding Britain has to offer from magical businesses to subtly threatening propaganda from the Ministry to independent artists. There's a different band at each end of the street and more food and drinks than one stomach can handle on its own.
It should be cheerful, shouldn't it?
A few hours into the festivities, an inexplicable dread starts to descend upon the crowds. The music even seems quieter. And then someone screams and begins to run. When people look up and see a slow swarm of dementors emptying into the streets, dread becomes fear.
