DEATH IS NOT AN ILLUSION: THE MIRAGE MURDERER By Byron Kettleburn After a string of gruesome Diagon Alley murders, authorities have finally identified a suspect in the killings. Dedalus Diggle, the former partner of the five victims this month, was seem by multiple witnesses at the scene of yeterday's crime. They described him murdering two victims in broad daylight. Among them were Jeremiah Smith and Bradford Howard. Diggle was seen leaving the scene with a third victim, Delphia Tyndall. Anyone with information about Tyndall or Diggle's whereabouts is strongly encouraged to contact the DMLE. Earlier this month, three other victims have been associated with Diggle's handiwork. Diggle's most recent victim, Osa Middleton, was seen wandering Diagon Alley earlier this week, asking witnesses if they seen Diggle anywhere. A short while later, she died in the middle of a busy crowd. Her cause of death has not yet been determined. On St Patrick's Day, Vernice Cattermole was found murdered in Dublin while yet another of Diggle's former partners, Ludwig Prosser, was found burned to death in a cage. A well-known illusionist, Diggle has had a prominent career spanning decades until several months ago when he was identified as a member of the Order of the Phoenix. Witnesses and authorities alike suggested that since his exposure, he may have become increasingly agitated and more mentally unstable. The motive suggested is his covering his tracks and eliminating his civilian ties who could be used to find more information about him, his plans and his current whereabouts. "I've never seen anyone so ruthless," a shaken passerby said, clearly disturbed by the memory. "He killed them like it was nothing." Many other reports echo these events, but several witnesses described something completely different — a man in a white robe who came and left. Whether that man is one of Diggle's victims who escaped or an accomplice is left to be determined. In a statement to the public today, Auror Corban Yaxley warned that Diggle should be considered armed and dangerous. If seen, contact the DMLE immediately and do not attempt to engage him. Yaxley also urged anyone with previous romantic ties to Diggle to come forward and accept protection from the DMLE until Diggle has been captured. |
