VIGILANTES BLAMED FOR PROPERTY WARD FAILURES By Theodora Travers Properties across the United Kingdom experienced a frightening loss of security wards without notice starting today, Sunday, 25 February. This comes a day after vigilantes illegally released the Wandless from Diagon Alley. Victims of these ward fails all share a similar concern: whoever is responsible leaves them wide-open for attack with their privacy and personal safety both at risk. One such victim, Angelus Rosier, discovered his wards were down this afternoon. "SOMEONE took the wards down on my penthouse likely for nefarious reasons, and we all know who that is," was all he would say on the matter. His sister, Persephone Rosier, was much more to the point. "They're probably going to come bomb my wardrobe!" she said, referencing the recent bombing of the BOTCH Ball less than two weeks ago of which Ms. Rosier was an attendee. Other victims were unwilling to point the finger without more facts but were nevertheless frustrated by the situation. "I don't care who did it, or how, but it needs to stop. We have wards up to stop anonymous owls coming in, 'cause Death Eaters kept threatening my family, and next thing I know, I come home from work and a bloody owl from an unknown sender smashes through my window," said Amethyst Williamson, who insisted she only spoke for herself and not on behalf of the DRCMC where she works. "How am I supposed to sleep here now?" Meanwhile, the DMLE has begun responding immediately to the issues. "The DMLE believes the Order of the Phoenix is responsible for the destruction of wizarding Britain's property wards. It's clear to us that the Order does not respect wizardkind's personal safety and the DMLE is going to redouble our efforts to track down these terrorists and bring them to justice," said the focused Ar. Corban Yaxley, Head of the DMLE in a blistering statement today about the Order of the Phoenix. All magical residents are advised to check that their property wards are currently in working order, and should contact the DMLE immediately if they fear their property or personal safety is in danger. In these trying times, further caution is a necessity. Have a hot tip? Contact Theodora Travers at ttravers@dailyprophet.mag |
