LEE: Welcome to another Potterwatch! Today we have Rodent here to give an eye-witness account of what actually happened at the Puddlemere vs Magpies game. FRED: Rapier. I know if you’re listening to this you know better than to trust anything the Prophet says but the Order of the Phoenix? Attacking a Quidditch game? How stupid do they think their readers are? LEE: Stupid enough to be their newest recruits. We’ve heard exclusive reports that they like them dumb. So what actually happened? FRED: Just replace ‘Order of the Phoenix’ with ‘Death Eaters’ in the article and you’ve got the real story. Death Eaters descended on the match, their Mark hanging in the air and sending the crowd into chaos. One quick-thinking Order member who was at the game summoned back up and they worked together with some brave players and members of the crowd to fight off the Death Eaters. LEE: Any ideas why they attacked this match? FRED: Aside from seeming to have a general hatred of the Magpies, the best answer I’ve got is that Head of Magical Games and Sports Death Eater Lucius Malfoy was mad that, as a student, his darling son can’t play professionally yet so had to have the whole game cancelled until Draco graduates. But really, there’s no sense to this, just as there’s no sense to any of the Death Eater’s actions. They’re not concerned citizens fighting against vigilantes, they’re murderers who don’t care who gets in their way, as long as they continue to spread fear and hate. The death of Richenza Selwyn, a Sacred 28 pureblood who was respected by many purists and Death Eaters, shows that. They don’t care who they hurt or who they kill. The Death Eaters who attacked this game used Unforgiveables, with at least one report of being on the receiving end of a Cruciatus curse. That’s not a spell you use if you’re trying to protect people, that’s a spell you use if you take pleasure in seeing other people suffer. They flew in, attacked, and when they’d decided they’d had enough fun for the day, flew back out without sticking around to help any of the people they’d injured. Do that sound like the actions of heroes to you? As the @OOTP hooter account said, the Order was there to help, the Death Eaters were there to harm. Follow them for accurate information between Potterwatch broadcasts. We regret that so many people were injured and killed in this senseless Death Eater attack but no matter what the Prophet posts about us, the Order is committed to protecting civilians from becoming another Death Eater casualty. LEE: Thanks, Rapier. And in more news not covered by the Daily Prophet, a Quibbler-affiliated reporter was beheaded earlier this week[...] |
