A life is a life. All are equal. That's the point here, the one I'm arguing that you're missing. You view these people as enemies, and I view them as people. I'm not arguing the soldiers that were killed in the war, I'm arguing the innocents.
Why are American servicemen so important? What makes them right? Who deserves to live and die?
That's not a call I can make. Do you feel you have the right to make it?
We can argue and argue and argue over this, but the fact is that you're approaching this from a nationalistic point of view, and I'm approaching it from a view that encompasses the whole world. I refuse to blind myself to atrocities simply for the fact that our country does them. That's how things like Guantanamo happen. That's how holocausts happen.
And if Obama's friends prove such a swayer of his policy, and he beings committing the same atrocities, you can be damn sure I will be the first person forming the resistance, because I believe ALL people are created equal. Not just American, not just our allies, but all people, and they should all have the same chance to live, even if the countries they happen to live in are under the control of dictators, warlords, or whatever else. The people who commit the atrocities are guilty, and only them. The innocent should not be punished for the sins of their leaders.
