Don't for a second think we're a democracy. We are a republic, and no matter how often we throw the term "Democracy" around, we are not it. Every person does not have a voice, and I think the events that resulted in George Bush's election 8 years ago clearly proved that those elected officials, not the people, decide how things work.
Also I find it ironic that you rage against the violence of a political activist, but have no problem calling for it in terms of revenge. Going along the WWII analogy, sure Hitler did a lot of terrible things, but did the people of Dresden? Japan committed horrible atrocities, but were the civilians in Hiroshima and Nagasaki guilty of their crimes?
If the people of a nation must suffer for its crimes, than we are all guilty of the atrocities of every war ever fought, and so deserve as much punishment as can be administered. After all, due to the atomic bombs, America holds the title of the worst terrorist attack in the history of time. Should we all not be guilty then?
