Revenge is a simplistic human emotion that casts aside other, higher learning based emotions. It feels good because it's immediate, it provides a momentary relief from what pains us.
However, as with most immediate benefits, it is short lived and doesn't cure the condition. It only creates a bigger void that can only be filled with more of the same. The revenge you take out kills a part of you, and as you progress you eventually find you've destroyed the very thing you sought to stand for.
If Iran destroys Israel, gods forbid, then I have no doubt revenge will be swift and brutal. But in the end we'll find ourselves with even more enemies, we'll have more blood shed, and still be in the same position we were before hand.
We must prevent the necessity for revenge, rather than preemptively plan for it.
