To be fair, Kozue didn't look like she was enjoying anything very much, not after Reizo's comment about Kou and Toru and—and—and— her face was slowly getting color back, but she looked distant. Her eyes were off somewhere over the pond; her brow was slightly creased. Her mind was churning, enough that she barely registered the hand settling on her hip until Reizo was talking again. It was impossible not to hear or listen to him, how close he was. His breath was warm on her ear. For any other girl, it might have been frightening, uncomfortable—for Kozue it was infuriating because, damn it, Reizo was right. This was closer than Kou had ever been to her and she'd been dating him pretty much since her birthday. Giant white-haired thugs could actually get into her personal space faster, and with more success, than her boyfriend?
She glanced up at Kou's hand, and it took a moment for her eyes to rise all the way up to his face. "Alright," she said, carefully, still quite aware of the arm wrapped around her. At least he looked furious... but was he furious about Reizo's sudden touchy feely turnaround, or because Reizo had revealed something he'd rather have kept a secret. "I guess you don't have any chocolates for me?"
Because he was—she fought down the urge to believe Reizo, but it was an unsuppressable motion in her stomach, sick and furious at once. She made to stand up, if her classmate would let her go without leaving any more bruises, and went to take Oubai's hand. Yes, they could walk. And talk.
"But I'd like that. We have a lot to talk about," she added, finally looking Kou directly in the eye.
