Who: Kanaye, Keiichi
What: "relationship poisoning" to quote Sean.
When: Random time in break.
Where: Park
Why: REVENGE.

Kanaye sat at the bench, thinking. He's been sitting on benches a lot lately, being a lot more social. His summer breaks have never been this social. Sure, he talked to friends, but it was inane, mindless chatter. Now? He was actually talking to people. It was great. Things had been looking up for him! He finally had friends, some of which were also halves, and he actually got his ex to talk to him again!

Not only that, the main problem about his relationship with ex was out of the way. Kanaye smirked, but a bad taste was still in his mouth. Said problem has been spreading rumors about his ex. What could he do in revenge?

Spreading rumors back is just stupid, it'd just get led back to him. Deep in thought, Kanaye didn't notice anyone passing by.

Getting out of the dorms was important for Keiichi, since he had a single room and all. School had been nice since it meant constant contact with the group of people he'd come to call friends, or at least teammates, but since break, he'd been sort of...withdrawn.

That was why he found himself in the park. Maybe to find someone to talk to. Maybe just to not be a shut in.

Regardless, Kanaye was not the person he wanted to find. "Oh, hello Satou-senpai," he said, anyway. Wasn't in him to be TOO outright rude. At least, not when he couldn't blow up things with his mind.

..HOLY SHIT. Was Kanaye's luck actually turning around? Quite frankly, this had a rather low chance of happening. Maybe Renju's dungeon was right? And, like, karma was giving him the chance he deserved for so long?

...Doubtful. Resolving to watch his back on the way home, Kanaye and stood up. "Yo, Keiichi-san!" He smiled at Keiichi. "How's life? How's Misaki?" Kanaye asked in a rather nice voice. Quite frankly, he was already thinking of how to integrate "your girlfriend is a lying bitch" into the conversation. He wasn't sure if Maeko would approve, but she'd never have to know, right?

Kanaye never liked cold foods, but revenge tasted sweet. Now, if only he had a nice wine to wash it down with...

"Life is...good, I suppose. I'm happy its summer. If it was winter, I don't think I'd be leaving the dorms at all." He shivered out of a Hell of a lot more than imagined cold.

"As for Aoi-san," -- and he noted he'd used the more formal term -- "good, I guess. I don't know. There are times I feel like everything's okay, and then times when I don't know what she and I are, or what she wants me to be, or who she *is*."

That was a problem, really.

Kanaye shivered with him. "Seriously. And...uh, once again. Sorry for running out on you guys. It was a stupid thing to do, and I hope you forgive me."

...Oh. Oh dear. It looks like Kanaye's going to trip and fall on yakuza punk soon, given his luck. He managed to resist smirking, instead nodding. "Oh, that's terrible. I don't know how Maeko put up with it for so long, but at least she doesn't anymore, right?" He let loose a little laugh. "I don't even know if Misaki knows who she is. Well, she probably does, but she lies so much it's hard to tell."

Kanaye viewed himself as very sneaky.

Keiichi shrugged. "You weren't the only one," he pointed out. Not that he was much happier with Toshimi, but...

"Besides, what's done is done. You and I probably aren't ever going to be best buddies, but I'd like to think we can do cordial at least."

Ito cocked his head to one side. He knew that Kanaye and Misaki didn't get along, but...

"I don't know how Misaki and Akuba-san did it for so long either. Though...if you're calling her a liar..." He knew some of the stories, really. But were there more? "What do you have to go on?"

"Do you think I want to be like Toshimi? I mean, seriously, she's creepy. She NEVER STOPS SMILING." Kanaye shook his head. "She's gonna kill us all."

"Probably not. I'll try to keep it polite."

Kanaye smiled. On the outside, it looked like a comforting smile. On the inside, he was laughing his ass off. Game. Set. "Well..." Kanaye sat down on the bench. "I don't want you to share this with everyone, alright? It should just be a few people."

Kanaye leaned towards Keiichi and whispered "Misaki's been lying to Maeko over something important for 5 years. She knew it was important since three years ago. But she still never said anything. When Maeko found out, she was pissed..." Kanaye whistled.

"I know that already," Keiichi replied, almost offhandedly. "Misaki told me the story." Ito kept a careful lookout to see if Kanaye was disappointed with this news.

"I know a decent amount. I'm well aware Mi-chan's not *quite* the innocent she portrays, sometimes. She confuses me a lot. But...she's never been not up front about us things, you know?"

He kept quiet about Toshimi. He had no idea what she was about, at all.

...Well, there goes THAT plan of attack. Kanaye didn't show it in his face, but he was growling inside. He smiled. "Oh? Well then, you know that she lied about trying to commit suicide for 5 years in order to keep Maeko as her friend, right?"

"You kidding? She has everyone convinced that she's a paragon of innocence, and I'm reasonably certain that she spread that rumor about Maeko and Gendou. She followed me on dates, she splashed me with her drink to keep me from kissing Maeko..."

Smirking at Keiichi, Kanaye continued. "Well, I hope she acts a lot nicer towards you then she did with me!" He laughed jokingly.

"She...has and had a wide variety of issues with you and Akuba-san, I am well aware of that." Keiichi, again, didn't seem surprised. "I can't quite explain her behavior at all, though. Not sure I'll ever be able to."

Keiichi paced around a bit. "The Maeko and Misaki friendship was unhealthy for both of them. I'm pretty sure it's better this way."

"I certainly hope not. That might mean you'd have to be like her and MAN that would suck! I mean, seriously, you'd probably start glaring at every man who came within five feet of Misaki!" Kanaye laughed. "And that includes me, most likely. No thanks but I'm fine without having more people trying to kill me."

Kanaye nodded. "Oh, certainly. Misaki doesn't have to deal with Maeko being overprotective, and Maeko doesn't have to deal with Misaki lying all the time. It's a win-win situation!"

"She's friends with lots of guys, best I can tell. Like Ishinomori-san. She told me that she was jealous of Sonozaki-san...and I still don't quite know why. I'm more than fine with her having male friends. She just seems a bit insecure sometimes."

That was a bit of an understatement. He could understand the sentiment, of course, but it seemed a tad...excessive?

"Why would anyone be jealous of Renju? I mean, if she tried to kill herself, her life couldn't exactly be peachy keen, right?" Kanaye thought a bit. "Do you know WHY we had to go through that hell hole to rescue her after she decided to run away?"

"Well, Toru-kun's taken. But I wouldn't be so sure. I'm not forgetting about her shadow for a long time..."

"I don't know, honestly. Sonozaki-san never told me. I didn't speak to her for that long anyway. She's...going through a lot, probably."

Something Kanaye said was unrelated, but struck Keiichi oddly. "Ishinomori-san? Really? Good for him." Ito was a bit surprised, but a significant other would likely be good for Toru. "Whose shadow do you mean, Misaki's or Renju's?"

"Everyone's going through a lot, doesn't mean we all run into paradise..." Deciding to ignore the hypocrisy, he sighed. "I mean, we got her out ok, but..."

"Yeah, but there are some troubles. His lover has a really annoying family, so..." Deciding that was vague enough, Kanaye shrugged. "Both, really. I'm not deathly afraid of anything cold, and I still think Misaki wants to jump my bones or something. It was creepy..."

"I meant more after the dungeon," Keiichi clarified. They WERE all going through a lot, but Renju seemed to be taking the shadow a lot harder than most. Possibly because it had nearly brutally murdered everyone, or partly because she seemed to believe that the shadow was all she was.

Either way...

"Still, good for Toru. Hopefully the family won't be too annoying." Everyone deserved to be happy, after all, especially somewhat socially awkward otaku.

"Misaki's shadow was...yeah," Keiichi concluded. "It made out with Sakagi-senpai, if I remember? Though..." He paused a moment, and looked at the older boy. "For a while, I was pretty convinced you liked her, and that she liked you. Back when you were going after that artist girl...Shiori was her name, yes? I figured you and Mi-chan would end up together. Still don't quite know why."

"Are you sure she's not?" Kanaye asked. "I mean, before the dungeon, did Renju ever talk to anyone? Did she ever show any emotions...at all?"

Kanaye looked at Keiichi a bit. He even managed to ignore the mention of Shiori. "Where did you get that from?" Kanaye burst out laughing. "No offense, Keiichi-san, but Misaki's a bit too...stupid, for my tastes.

"She was in Cooking Club with me," Keiichi said. "She didn't talk that much, but she did speak to us and was cordial enough. Quiet, but lots of the team tends to be quiet. You and I just have a tendency to chatter."

Keiichi not so much as Kanaye, but in comparison to the Kous and Renjus of the world...

"Honestly," he asked, before forging on, "you two seemed to have a lot in common. Sort of strong personalities, colorful hair, generally happy and bubbly." Keiichi shrugged. "I wouldn't call her stupid. She just lacks common sense. As someone who also lacks common sense, I know there's a difference."

"Yeah, but she doesn't seem to have any emotions at all, like Toshimi. It's quite unnerving, really." He shrugged.

"Yeah, but my hair is like this naturally. Lord knows why she wants pink hair and blue eyes..." Kanaye grumbled. "I'll stop calling her stupid when she stops doing stupid things, like following people on dates, and digging up the track field."

"She's more emotional than Nawanaka-san," Keiichi declared. "Of course, I think some rocks might be, really, so your mileage may vary."

Aoi-san DID have the habit of exhibiting rather...odd behavior, and rather often.

"If anything, I think she's immature. Not in the insulting, mean way...but in the 'never grew up properly' way. I know her parents weren't the greatest to her; that might have contributed. There are times she is wise beyond her years, and times she acts like she's twelve."

Keiichi frowned a bit. "And I'm talking about this too much. I'm sorry."

"Yeah. I mean, she only really gets mad...barely at all." Kanaye sighed. "And then there's that thing with Tom...I still think she could have said that MUCH better."

"Her parents weren't the greatest to her, yeah, but neither were mine, and look how I turned out!" Kanaye blinked. "...I'm a bad example. Nevermind."

"No worries, Keiichi-san, if you have anything to vent, I'll help!"

"I think I'm done venting for now, Satou-senpai," Keiichi proclaimed. "Thanks for listening, though. You know, when I deal with you directly instead of second-hand via the dramaverse, we usually can at least co-exist."

With that proclamation, he turned to go. "I'm sure I'll see you around. I've got some cooking to do."

"Oh, certainly. And it's not like that drama will continue, anyway, unless Misaki DID spread those rumors..." He shrugged. "Oh well! I hope you have fun with your girlfriend, Keiichi!"

Kanaye trotted off. "I'm sure she'll appreciate it, I'm sure she likes cakes."
