Aoi, Misaki ([info]pinksunbeam) wrote in [info]disappear_rpg,

Entry tags:keiichi, kiriko, misaki, shiori

Who: Misaki, Shiori, Kiriko, anyone that follows them
What: Shopping, lunch, other fun things
Where: Shopping district in Iburi
When: Sunday Afternoon prior too Toru's vanishing
Why: For the fun and relaxation that only hanging out can bring.

Misaki hurried down the street dressed in a green sundress and low heels. Oddly enough the dress was made out of a pattern that would be familar to Shiori, namely her bird drawing was all down one side of the dress, embroidered in detail then painted on with fabric paint. The pink haired girl had agreed to meet the other two outside of the movie theater at tweleve.

She was panting some when she got there bowing to catch her breath. "Sorry I'm late...needed to help get my sister Nami out of the pool."

Looking up she smiled, "But I did make it."

It was obvious that it was laundry day at the Wakanata household, for not only was Shiori wearing a tanktop instead of one of her usual abstract tees but she was wearing jeans, and long ones at that. Though she had tried to make herself feel better by wearing flip-flops instead of sneakers, it was a useless effort; wearing long pants reminded her of the school uniform, which reminded her of school and thus her classes and her grades in them. Not a comforting association for her.

Still, she forced herself to suck it up. She wasn't about to cancel on Aoi-san and Ikeda-san for such a silly thing as not being able to wear a skirt. Even if it did really suck.

Having not wanted to sit in her house and listen to the washing machine rumble, Shiori had left the house. And, for once, she had left her bag behind - with jeans (and pockets), she had no need for it. She felt so unlike her usual self it was a bit disconcerting. Did her clothes really mean that much to her? At least she had her favorite orange pin in her hair - that was one thing she had been determined to wear.

So, she had sat outside of the movie theater, idly playing a game on her cell while chewing on a piece of gum. The low scores she had been continually getting did nothing to relieve her poor mood; if anything, it made it worsen.

Still, when Aoi-san ran over and apologized for being late, Shiori looked up and returned the smile.

"You aren't late at all," she told her. "I don't think, anyway."

Obviously, Shiori was caring about the time.

Looking at Aoi-san's dress, Shiori's eyes widened in recognition and she smiled softly.

"Ah, so you did make it," she said happily. "It's cute on you, Aoi-san."

Misaki smiled delighted at the fact that the dress was well recived. She had worked extra hard getting the pattern on the feathers just right and she wanted to suprise Shiori with something different, "Thank you I really tried. I have something for you too. Ah...Wakanada-chan! You're not wearing a skirt today. Hee, jeans look good on you though."

Reaching into the purse she pulled out a tightly wrapped package, "Here, I thought you might like this, you can probably wear it today you know, it'll go good with the tank top you have on."

Inside, when Shiori did open it, she would find an orange skirt, much like the color of her pin, that had the pattern of the bird all over it in a golden color that just hinted at metalic. Misaki had tried to design it based on the types of skirts she'd seen Shiori wear at school, and the times she'd seen her about town when not in class.

The younger girl blushed, "I really hope you like it. I wonder though where Kiriko-chan is. Maybe she wound up having to deal with something at home."

Kiriko was also late, but with no apologies. She rounded the corner almost just as Misaki mentioned her, as though she had been summoned just from hearing her name called, and she approached them wearing a flowing skirt, a shirt with a butterfly print, and her usual bored expression. Her hair was drawn back into a loose braid for the day, probably because of the heat, but her bangs were still held back with a pin that looked much like the blue butterfly on her shirt. She tipped her head curiously at Misaki's dress. The pattern looked almost hand drawn, and also strangely familiar, but she couldn't quite place where she'd seen it before.

"Are we ready to go?" she asked, approaching the other girls. Glancing up at the movie theatre's marquee above their heads, she looked back to Misaki and Shiori.

"Did you decide to see a movie instead...?"

Misaki glanced behind her a grinned happily. "Kiriko chan! You look wonderful. That's an adorable outfit! Where did you get it?"

She blinked and looked at Shiori, "Ah...no...I don't think so. Did we decide on that?"

Nearby to the movie theater happened to be a home goods store. This wouldn't be relevant for most times. It is on this one, however, because Ito Keiichi, Cooking Club president extraordinaire, happened to be emerging from the shop carrying a bag in his right hand.

"Hrmm," he mused, to himself, "maybe I should go catch that new movie about the chef from Australia..."

Before he could make much of a move towards the theater, his eyes fell upon the group of his classmates.

It vaguely occurred to him that this was the sort of situation Kanaye would dream of...but happened to make Keiichi more than slightly nervous.

'Shit,' he thought, 'Fight or flight...'

They were too close. Better to say hello.

"Um, hello," Keiichi managed, walking the short distance over to them, bag in hand. "How is everyone?"

"Hummm?" Misaki glanced away from Kiriko at the moment. Not that she wasn't happy to see Keiichi, it was just...that she honestly wasn't. She had been hoping to get to know Shiori and Kiriko better and now...She couldn't just ignore him right? That would be rude.

Smiling some she nodded, "Oh good afternoon Keiichi-senpai. What are you doing here?"

He held up his bag by way of reply. "I needed a new apron," he explained. "The other one's sort of ruined from a few too many cooking club meetings gone wrong. This one's all nice and clean."

Keiichi surveyed the group. It was Sunday, after all. No classes. "What are you three up to, anyway?"

Accepting the box, Shiori opened it carefully and was amazed to see the skirt. It really was cute, but Shiori knew she would rarely wear it. To wear it on any day seemed rude - the skirt really was amazing, and definitely deserved to be worn during a special occasion. Not that Shiori had many of those. It almost seemed like a wasted effort for Aoi-san to have gone through the trouble.

"You shouldn't have," Shiori said, still in awe over the skirt. "But thank you, really. It's amazing!"

Looking over when Ikeda-san approached them, Shiori smiled and stood up. She was about to answer Aoi-san when Keiichi approached them.

"We're having a girls' day~" Shiori hummed in response to his question, holding Aoi-san's present to her chest.

From her place behind Misaki, Kiriko surveyed Keiichi up and down, arms folded over her chest. She'd agreed to come on the shopping trip primarily because it was with people she found tolerable or better and because she had nothing else to do - but knowing Misaki, she'd probably be inviting Keiichi along, and she wasn't quite sure what to think of that. From her few interactions with the boy in the other world, he seemed more or less alright, but she tended towards skepticism.

"How soon are we leaving?" she prompted, sounding deliberately impatient in hopes to interrupt Misaki before she got too deep into converstaion.

"Oh I see, well I'm glad you found what you needed Keiichi-senpai. But yes it's a girls day, and I'm sorry...but...um...would you mind terribly if we went...unless you know...Wakanta-chan wanted you to come. I know you two went out to get noodles and such..," Misaki had seen the look Kiriko was giving. She didn't want to upset her friend but she didn't want to make Keiichi upset either. She wasn't sure what to do so she looked at Shiori.

"Well I'm glad you really like the skirt. Maybe you can wear it when you go out with Keiichi-senpain next time."

"Oh..."

His voice trailed off. Well, if it was a girls' day...there were always things he could do back at the dorm. Recipes to read, Cooking Club business to take care of, Matsuri Online to play...

Still, he couldn't help but feel a tad bit sad about the entire thing.

"Sorry for bothering you all, then. I'll see you in school on Monday."

Keiichi walked off past the group, clutching at his apron bag tightly.

As he walked past, he pondered the last thing that Misaki had said. Did she--oh.

OH.

He would have to talk to Misaki later. Probably about topics he didn't want to discuss, but lately, that was his life.

Misaki paused and felt a bit bad. Keiichi had apparently wanted to come, which made her feel that he was going to dislike her from now on. She would just have to work harder to get him to like her as a friend. That wasn't to mention the fact that she probably just messed up a chance for him to go out with Shiori-chan. Feeling a tad bit sheepish she turned to the others.

"Did I do wrong telling him that? I mean...I was hoping to spend the day with you two but..."

Whoa, was Aoi-san putting her on the spot? How awkward! Shiori didn't want to be the one to decide! And bringing up her going out to eat with him... how embarrassing! Jeez, they weren't even dating yet or anything!

Her face turned bright red when Aoi-san mentioned Shiori could wear the skirt next time she went out with Keiichi, and she stared down at the ground. Surely Aoi-san was being innocent about this whole thing and wasn't picking on Shiori or anything, right?

She looked up when Aoi-san wondered if she had done something wrong and shook her head.

"No way! He would've ruined all of our fun!" Shiori exclaimed. "We would've had to hurry up with picking out clothes or trying them on or..." she paused. "Or whatever else we would do."

She caught Shiori blush, even though the older girl bowed her head to try to hide it. Maybe it was true that they were dating? She hadn't heard any rumours to that effect, but then again, a lot of people were pretty discreet about who they were with. For a moment, Kiriko stared at Shiori as though the answer to her question would suddenly appear written on the artist's forehead. Obviously, this presented her with no answers.

Instead, she turned to Misaki.

"Don't worry about it. We made plans, it would have been rude for him to invite himself. Besides, I doubt he likes clothes as much as he does food." The ghost of a smile crossed Kiriko's lips, meant as some measure of encouragement to Misaki, but the tall girl turned away before much could be made of the gesture.

"Let's get going, then."

Misaki nodded brightly then, "Right. I'm sorry Shiori-san. I guess...Never mind. We're going to have a ton of fun. I want to try that drink you mentioned. Oh and we should look at the art store...where do you want to go Kiriko-chan?"

"I'm fine with wherever." Her tone confirmed her ambivalence. "I'd just like to check out one of the nice accessories stores on the way back."

Shiori smiled at Ikeda-san's words. The idea that Keiichi would like clothes more than shopping was kind of humorous - half their conversation at the noodle place had been about food. Or it seemed like it, anyway. No, Keiichi definitely wouldn't have enjoyed himself all that much if he had come with.

"It's fine," she said, waving it off. "We should probably save the Ramune for later. Clothing stores don't usually allow people to bring in opened beverages, and you can't really close a bottle of Ramune..."

At Aoi-san's mention of the art store, Shiori spoke up again. "I don't really need anything at the art store, but if you guys want to check it out we can. I'll help you find what you need!"

"Are you sure? Well okay then. Hummm...where should we go first? I've never really done this before to be honest. It's really my first time going out with anyone other then my younger brother. Um...We could check out that new store that they opened up. I'll bet there's some really nice clothing there." Misaki suggested and blushed.

What on earth was Misaki blushing for? The girl couldn't even make a suggestion as to where she wanted to go without getting embarassed? Kiriko sighed, pushing a stray strand of hair behind one of her ears.

"Lead the way, then."

"Uh...Okay...sure..." Misaki looked heistantly around. What if she picked the wrong place to go? What if they didn't like it and felt bored being with her? Did they come here out of pity for her in the first place.

She had her back to them so they couldn't see the panic in her face. Biting her nail some she smiled quickly, "Um...we....er...OH Look, ah...we can um...the music store. We can see if they have any new music in. I heard that one band is putting out a new CD..."

Kiriko smiled to herself and folded her arms. She could hear Misaki's nervous stammer and it only confirmed what she had already figured. Maybe today would be a good day for assertiveness training... Or at least "be less of a doormat" training. But how to go about it?

"I thought you said you wanted to go to the clothes store?" she probed.

She flushed some and grinned, "I...I really just want to hang out with you two."

"It's fine, it's fine!" Shiori said cheerfully. "I wouldn't mind spending my money on clothes. I could use some more skirts."

She picked at her jeans, wrinkling her nose at them. If she had more skirts, she wouldn't have to wear jeans as much. Or maybe she could buy a pair of shorts instead?

...come to think of it, didn't she have a pair somewhere? They probably wouldn't fit now though. Maybe she should get a new pair - especially now that the summer heat was fast approaching. It'd be terrible if she had to wear jeans in the sweltering heat.

"You're so cute, Aoi-san!" Shiori exclaimed at the younger girl's blush. "It doesn't matter where we go then as long as we're together, right? Let's just walk around then and if we find a store that looks interesting, we'll go in."

It had worked out well when Shiori had gone to Mayagi with Keiichi, in any case. It had to work with Ikeda-san and Aoi-san.

Kiriko glanced from Misaki to Shiori. It didn't seem like either of them really wanted to lead. A little disappointing, really - she'd like to see Misaki take charge. It was strange how she had no problem ordering Reizo to make desserts but got embarassed at being asked to lead to a clothing store.

With a small shrug of her shoulders, Kiriko turned on her heel and began her way down the street, peering into the shops that lined them; the window shopping had officially commenced.

"That sounds like a good idea, Shiori-chan!" and she blushed even more at the compliment. She beamed at them and grabbed Shiori's hand and then Kiriko's smiling brightly like a grade schooler.

"I'm just happy being around two amazing people. I'm really lucky to have Kiriko-chan and Shiori-chan as friends," she said happily then gave Kiriko's hand a squeeze adding. "And I know I would trust Kiriko-chan to lead us anywhere."
