Who: Everyone
What: Spirit Week, Day 1: Cooking Day
Where: Cafeteria, Nanakamado Escalator High school
When: Breakfast and Lunch
Why: Because Gendou commands it, and he wants his tamagoyaki, damnnit!

Student council President Retsu Gendou walked quickly down the quiet hallway in the early morning to the cafeteria. His blue eyes taking in everything as he checked his cellphone one more time to make sure that he had the information that he needed. He knew there would be a large crowd that morning, he just wanted to make sure that there was enough food to feed the hungry minons of Nanakamado.

Heading over to the doors, he took a deep breath then pushed twin double doors with a burst of energy, flinging them open in the most dramatic way possible. (If there were birds on the opposite side they would take flight)

"Ito-kun! Aoi-Chan! Ah there you are! Good morning fellow Chefs, and how does the cooking fair this early morning. I'm sure that we're going to have some delicious food," he smiled cheerfully as he walked into the kitchen where the cooking club was working hard on their food. Some of the members grumbled upon seeing the president. After all this was his falut that they were up so early.

Gendou ignored the sour looks and went over to the main section of the room where Keiichi was busy cooking. He smiled brightly and slapped the tall boy on the back. "Well how's it coming? I should hope that there's no hang ups with the food?! Oh are you having the girls act as wait staff?! I'm sure that the students would get a kick out of the likes of Kasumi-chan, and Misaki-chan, wearing aprons and being all cute as they served food. Not to mention I'm sure that you'd get more members knowing that they'd be near cute girls too."

He slid over to Keiichi's other side and smirked as he spoke in a low voice, "By the way you are haveing the rolled omelet right? I've been hoping for one this week, and saving up my tastebuds for it, so it better be good, little cooking Kohai."

The third year gave him a cute smile as he said this, though it was clear that if he was disappointed there might be trouble on the horizen. It wasn't in the young second year's interest to sour the breakfast of the Student President of the school.

"Hai Retsu-sama!" Misaki shouted over the clatter of bowls she was putting out and counting to make sure there was enough rice bowls for all the students. She knew there would be some coming up for more then one serving so she had to make sure that she gave an equal amount to each of the students and she hoped that some of the servers didn't just hand out more then the proper share of rice, or they would have to make more.

"It's going well, I think," she glanced around and recounted the chopsticks again. Anything to keep from thinking about the fact that her brother's girlfriend once more had spirited him off to some unknown place where she couldn't talk to him and get him to help her feel better.

"Ah splendid. I knew that you and Keiich-kun would have this place all ship shape. And with our lovely Maeko-hime helping out it makes life all the sweeter. After all having a lovely girl like her running around helps out soooo much. I'm just jealous that I have to make sure all things run on schedule. I could be helping out, slaving away in the kitchen with sexy looking school girls all sweaty from the heat. Blushing like mad, and having to roll up their sleeves and skirts. Ah it must be heaven for Keiichi-kun!" Gendou told her and grinned charmingly as he put a hand on her shoulder.

"Wouldn't you agree that Maeko-hime is quiet the good helper?"

"Ah...Yes she is...but um...she doesn't need to help. I mean...I want her to have fun," smiled Misaki she didn't understand why the president was calling Maeko "Princess." Maybe he liked her or something.

Gendou chuckled, this girl was a delight. So innocent, it was no wonder that people were both annoyed with her and enjoyed her so much. He pondered though if that was just a front, if it was...it was a damn good one.

Patting her on the head he smiled, "Well working is one way that Maeko-hime has fun. If she's not working she's on my case about things, and believe me I have enough to deal with with my vice president and my secretary."

"Ano....Senpai...why are you calling her Maeko-hime? I don't think she would like that too much if she heard you saying that to her." Misaki explained as she quickly shifted away from Gendou who seemed distracted by something.

Glancing out the window she noticed a tall woman with dark hair and a leather jacket talking with the Vice principle, who motioned with her to follow. Misaki glanced at Gendou who was frowning now. Looking to where the woman had been then back at Gendou she asked quietly, "Retsu-senpai...is something wrong? You were watching that lady. Do you know her?"

Gendou noticed that she was watching and smiled some. No need to worry the poor girl about it, after all this wasn't something a cute thing like her should be involved in. Waving his hand he laughed, "No, no it's nothing really. Just I thought I did, probably not though, she looked like a friend of my family that's all."

He smiled at her, "Besides that, you were saying that she wouldn't want to be calle Maeko-hime? Ah...I thought you two were close, it's so cute the way you stick up for her Aoi-chan, but you don't need to really. Maeko-hime has more claws then you know of."

"Are you sure?" Misaki looked at him carefully but nodded. Smiling again she added, "Well if you say so. She seems very stern, but she's pretty."

"Well because I don't think that suits her, she's not the princess type, she's more a queen. And we are close, it's just..." Misaki paused. She didn't want to talk about it. There were times when she just thought that Maeko stuck up for her because she made her food, and she was sure that Maeko would probably stop if she didn't. The younger girl gave a cute smile, "Yes I know...I worry about her a lot. She's a good person though. She just likes to defend people."

"Trust me on this one Aoi-chan, and yes she seems that way doesn't she," Gendou said softly then smirked some.

"Oh, it's just what? That you adore her with your heart and soul. That your very being burns with love for her. I tease though. Maeko-hime is a very intellegent girl, and I know of no one better suited for helping out here. I have a good feeling that when I leave she'll be the one to take over. That being said, I do wish she would be a bit more calm about things. She's going to wear herself out." The senior shook his head, smiling at Misaki he nodded, "Well duty calls and I must see how the others are doing. Later, my dear."

"Um, well I wouldn't put it that way Senpai, but I do care a lot about her," Misaki said. She wasn't sure Maeko would want the responsiblity that Gendou was going to heap onto her, but Misaki didn't know of anyway to exactly stop him from doing so. Rubbing the side of her neck she smiled some at the third year.

"Then I'll see you later Senpai." With a smile she turned and headed towards the tables.

Maeko sighed with exhaustion, putting down a stack of plates and signing madly at Gendou's back. Not that he'd understand it even if he did see. There were some benefits to speaking a soundless language that near nobody in the school understood. She picked up the plates again and carried them to the counter where the chefs would put food on them.

It was bad enough that she'd had to help organize this stupid event on the first place but then she'd first been told to supervise as a student council member and then been drafted in to the cooking club for the day because they needed more members who weren't prone to spilling food, setting things alight and breaking plates. And now she was carrying things around while the History teacher yelled

At least any work she did was work that Misaki wasn't being forced to do.

"Chins up, everyone! Let's keep working hard for Nanakamado's sake!" She shouted, trying to sound cheerful and not tired and irriated.

"Maeko-chan! You don't have to carry all that! Let me help you!" she pleaded with the older girl. This wasn't her duty and Maeko did so much as it was. She owed her a lot.

Taking some plates she smiled, "I really appricate the help Maeko-chan, but really you don't have to worry about it. You should just relax and eat like the rest of the students okay?"

"Thanks, but it's fine." Maeko said, her efforts to fake a convincing smileaided geatly by genuine relief at some of the weight being taken. "I have to supervise as a council member anyway, I shouldn't just sit around watching you all work. And if there's more people helping out then everything'll be done quicker and we can all rest sooner."

"Hummm, I suppose that's true. But still, you do so much already Maeko-chan. You're always helping out. I would think that you would want to take a break from everything," she said then paused. "By the way...um...does anyone use the roof top at all in the school?"

Maeko put her hand on her chin, thinking.

"I think it's off limits right now. We were discussing it at the last council meeting, part of the barrier was weakened by all that wind over the break. Students aren't allowed up there until they have someone come in to check and repair it. Why do you ask?"

Maeko thought. She usually had lunch in the Anti-Bullying club room unless there was a council meeting. She'd invite Misa there happily but everyone being there'd attract the councellor's attention in no time.

"Hmm, it might not be lunch but maybe we could have a picnic together after school. We could go to the skypark to eat and invite everyone."

"If you're sure you can do all that..." Maeko said, reluctantly. "At least let me handle inviting the people in my class, okay?"

Kouchisei probably wouldn't show up if he thought everyone would be there, after all, and Misaki would want him to be there. The younger girl wouldn't be willing to lie to him to get him to come and so Maeko would do it.

"Are you sure Maeko-chan?! You do so much already." she pouted some. "You and Kiriko-chan, and Shiori-chan, and Toshimi-chan are all so strong. I wish I could be too, but I'm not. But I know that you can get people to come so I know I can count on you. Thank you Maeko-chan!" Misaki told her honestly and gave the girl another squeeze. "Hey Maeko-chan, is it okay to call you Makeo-neechan?"

Kouchisei found an empty table in the corner, where he put his boxed lunch and sat, hoping he'd be alone. He wanted some peace and quiet. He felt awkward being in the middle of a crowd. Outside it was a good distance. He felt safe here.

He picked off the lid and seemed to look into his box with a thoughtful expression. If he stuck with those people he might have to put his life in danger. It wasn't in his mind to put himself in those situations. He looked up, eyes widened. He was scared.

Picking up his chopsticks, he thought it might be a good distraction from the situation at home. He hadn't intended to worry his father.

In her excitement to have a free lunch made by Keiichi the cooking club, Shiori had left her class as soon as the bell had rang. She had left too early, apparently, for by the time she arrived at the cafeteria the food wasn't even ready. Shoulders slumped, Shiori spotted Oubai-san sitting alone at a table. He probably wanted to be alone, she realized - people had to have been bothering him about his disappearance and he was probably sick of it. He was back now, and that was the important thing.

So, shyly, Shiori wandered over to his table and took a hesitant seat. Slowly putting her sketchbook down onto the table, she asked him, "Would you mind?"

They didn't need to have forced pleasant talk or anything. She was fine with just doodling and waiting for the food to be finished. And if he did want to talk, then that was alright too.

"Good afternoon you two," Misaki smiled at them and noticed that Kou had a boxed lunch with him. This prompted her to stare at it for a moment or two as if quickly disecting the food and chuckled. "Ah Oubai-senpai, I have some snacks to go along with that if you like."

Glancing over at Shiori she smiled, "Shiori chan! Don't move alright! I have something that Keiichi-senpai made just this morning. I'll get it for you okay?"

Alerted by a voice, Kouchisei looked up. He was confronted by Shiori asking to sit with him by placing her artpad on the table. This caused him to go quiet for a long while, till he nodded.

"Shiori-san. Please feel free."

He was struck by the thought Shiori wouldn't try making idle conversation. He didn't think he could force himself to talk.

Then Misaki came. He looked at his boxed lunch and shook his head.

"No thank you."

Misaki looked at him and put her hands together, "Please oh please Oubai-senpai. I just need someone to try a little and tell me if it's any good! Retsu-senpai asked me to try to make it because he likes coffee, but I wanted to make it good enough to give to everyone. Can you just try a little please...."

If looks could melt stone, Misaki's could crack it and turn it into a puddle of goo.

"Thank you Oubai-senpai! I promise you won't regret it." Misaki told him and rushed to the back. Moments later she returned and set out two plates. One was for him and one was for Shiori.

On the plates sat three rolled cylinders made out of a very light looking cookie dough. They were brown and crisp like waffers. Inside there was brown cream like substance that was darker then the outside. There was a light yellow band around each of them.

Misaki smiled some, "Retsu-senpai mentioned he liked coffee a lot, so I tried to create a treat that's not too sweet and not to bitter that has a mocha latte taste to it. The outside is a cappichion waffer crust, the band is a light carmel pastry dough, and the inside is a mohca latte cream cheese er...cream."

She hoped they thought it was good.

Relieved that he had said yes, Shiori offered him a quick smile before flipping open her book to a new page and beginning her doodle. Dimly, she was aware of Aoi-san greeting the two of them but Shiori was too focused on her picture to really acknowledge the other girl. It was when Aoi-san placed two plates in front of them that Shiori finally realized Aoi-san was there, and as she looked up she pushed her hair behind her ear.

"Ah, Aoi-san," Shiori said, surprised. Looking down at the plates, she took one of the rolled cylinders. "Thanks for bringing it over. Did you make it?"

Taking a careful bite so that it wouldn't flake off everywhere, Shiori smiled. "It's very good!"

Back by the stoves in the kitchen, the president of the Cooking Club was...he couldn't quite say *unhappy*. *Peeved* was more like it.

Cooking was something he enjoyed.

Blackmail, on the other hand, was something he did not. And he knew that were his manga tastes exposed to the world, everyone would get the entirely wrong idea. He read yuri manga for the touching storylines and art, damnit.

Still, it wasn't like he had much of a choice. And so he continued to work behind the scenes. Misaki was presumably off doing what she did far better than he: be the social face of the club. Ito-san knew how to cook and present his food, and he could communicate with his friends...but especially lately, he was finding a lot of them to be grating on his nerves.

"Figures," he groaned, cracking eggs into a pan to begin preparing the Student Council President's precious rolled omelet.

"What figures, Keiichi-kun?" Kanaye asked with a smile. He had absolutely nothing better to do, so he came to ask Keiichi is he could make some western food, and found the younger boy muttering to himself. "Talking to yourself is the first sign of insanity, you know."

Gendou looked disturbed as he walked into the kitche and sighed. He glanced over at Keiichi and nodded his head to him, "Ito-san, oh and hello Satou san. I've been sent to inform you that you two have to go up to classroom 3-F. All students in Sato-san's classroom are to report there for a question session with a detective."

He looked about nervously and then pulled out his phone. Glancing at it he shook his head and smiled, "Pardon, text, anyway, I just wanted to let you know they're putting the events on hold till they clear up some matters. I guess they figure it's okay to hold tests but not okay to hold fun events. Heh, well I'm sure that this will finish up well."
