Who: Misaki and open
What: Worrying and buying some cake
Where: Small cafe in the main campus area
When: Longer break between classes, since in the summer they only get three classes or something
Why: Because she's upset about weird letters.

Misaki walked along the path from the main building of the high school and looked over the notes she had gotten again. The whole thing was troubling to her. Who would write such horrible things to her, and why? Had her shadow been that dangerous? It was upseting to her and she was starting to not be able to eat. Curiously she was more focused on what magazines were used for the print for the first letters. She supposed the person was trying to cover who they were, but still, even if it was to scare her she was trying to not worry anyone else. What good would that do.

Buying the small cake she went out to a bench to spread the letters on her lap and look them over, trying to ignore the meaning and searching out clues for where they came from. Was the hand writing the same, the cut of the paper? How old was the type? Was it newspaper or something else?

Folding the pages slowly she tried to peice together the mystery surrounding it.

"Hey, Misaki-chan, what's that you got?" Kiriko's voice came from somewhere behind her. "Notes from today?"

She caught up to Misaki shortly thereafter.

"Hey, did I see newspaper or something?"

Misaki looked up and blinked. She blushed some seeing Kiriko and smiled some, "Ah, Kiriko-chan! Sorry I was thinking to much I didn't hear you."

"This, um...well, I really don't know, they've been showing up in my locker. I...I'm a bit worried about them. I was just trying to figure out if it's some sort of joke or if I really made someone mad at me." Misaki told her and showed her the letters. "Ah, no, but they have newspaper in them."

"Ooh, another confession?" Kiriko joked and smiled sidelong at her friend as she took the letters. When she actually started to read them, the smile melted fast, replaced with shock and disturbance in quick succession.

"Wh-what is... How long has this been going on for?"

Misaki thought, "A few days now. I hope it's someone's idea of a joke. I'm a bit scared about it, but I'm sure it's a joke right? I mean...no one can be this cruel in real life to wish someone to actually die."

She smiled some softly trying to reason with herself that it was nothing to be scared of. That it was only someone's silly joke since she was dating Keiichi. That had to be it...right?

Kiriko frowned hard at her friend. Apparently, her dungeon had made her no less naive. That made the whole thing all the more worrisome.

"... I don't want you to walk home by yourself anymore. Go with a group, or with Ito-san."

She skimmed through the letters again as she spoke. The word shadow leapt off the page at her, and she frowned hard in response.

"And... would you mind if I held onto these? We have to figure out who wrote them. Can you think of anybody who really dislikes you?"

Misaki nodded and hesitated, "I don't want Keiichi-kun worrying about me though. He has enough to deal with and I'm causing drama for him."

The pink haired freshman thought a bit, and sighed, "I'm not sure...honestly. I don't know of anyone who genuinly hates me."

She didn't want to mention Kanaye as a possible person that hated her, since she didn't want to cause more of a rift in the team then she had already.

Kiriko shook her head vigorously. "If he finds out you didn't tell him, don't you think it would be even worse? And imagine if something did happen?"

She looked down at the letters again, this time folding them in her hands. She could think of a few people offhand... Though, if it were any of them, well... that would be more than unfortunate. She chewed the inside of her lip in deliberation.

"Are you sure about that, Misaki-chan? You can't think of anyone at all?"

She wasn't expecting much of an answer, but...

"But if I tell him then it would cause him to really really worry about me. And I'm still trying to make sure that I'm not a burden," Misaki explained looking down at the cake she had bought. "I know, I'm scared about that too, but what if it's just a joke and he gets mad enough to get into a fight with the person?"

Misaki took her time to think diliberately, "Well there's a few girls in 1-A that don't like me," she added softly, "and Kou-sempai and Kanaye-kun might not like me."

Seiko was bouncing down the path (after all walking like a sane person was boring) when she noticed a shock of pink hair, she paused and looked over at Misaki, she looked low. Slowing down Seiko walked over to the younger girl who was sat on a bench and hopped over the back of the bench to sit next to her.

"Hey Misa-chan, are you okay?" she asked gently, looking concerned.

Misaki was slightly starteled and yelped some when Seiko did that and blushed flustered and smiled gently. "Oh! Yukizaki-sempai! You suprised me!"

She shuffled the cake over and shook her head, "No I'm okay, just thinking a bit. Trying to figure out where to go over the summer and such. Everyone seems so busy. But other then that, I'm doing good. What brought you over here?"

"Ah sorry I just like to make an entrance." she smiled.

She gave Misaki a one armed hug and sighed. "You looked blue, so I thought I'd come over I mean...us lot have to look after each other right?" she smiled gently. "I mean I don't like to see anyone low..."

"Oh! You're like my Niisan then," Misaki laughed and smiled, "He always likes to make a splashy enterence. Says it's good for the body to always make an eneterence. If you don't you loose your happy factor."

Misaki blushed some but then happily hugged back. She paused and smiled sadly, and then giggled, "Yeah I know the feeling. It's bad when people are down. I guess, maybe I am a little. So much is going on, and I got into a bit of trouble with Maeko-chan and Kanaye-sempai. I was just thinking about what's happening to me, and well, just silly stuff like that. It's nothing to worry about honestly."

She pulled out the cake, "I can't finish this all on my own. Want to share it with me? And the hug just cheered me up."

Seiko grinned broadly and gave a thumbs up. "Anyway you should try to smile some more Misa-chan."

She frowned. "Trouble with Kanaye-kun and Maeko-san? What happened?" she sighed and patted the younger girl's shoulder. "I'm sure it will be okay.""

She stared at the cake. "Well what kind of girl can turn down cake?"

"Oh I do smile a lot," Misaki explained. "I've just been blue. I'm sure it will pass. My brother is going to be getting married some time in the fall, so I'm going to be getting more excited about that when it comes."

Misaki looked embaressed, "Well I wanted to learn to be a better girlfriend and I followed them on a date and kinda spyed on them. Just to see how to act better for Keiichi, so he didn't have to keep guiding me around like a lost puppy. But they caught me and now Sempai's upset with me over it."

She grinned, "It's orange interestingly enough and marange. I heard it was pretty good and it looked yummy."

"Ooh cake is always good." She said taking her share with a grin.

"I know, but at times I don't think he can handle things for her. I...I want her with someone that can really appricate what she really is. Maeko-chan, is...she's really pretty and smart. I just don't think she can see that, and it hurts sometimes to think she can't find someone who's just as amazing as she is." Misaki said quietly.

She blinked and laughed, "Yeah cake always helps. Oh I'd love for Trowler to meet with Goro-sama. He needs to be around other animals. He's been in the shop too much."

Seiko sighed. "Don't underestimate him. I mean sure he can be a little unusual. But he really does care." she said gently.

"Anyway Misa-chan, you seem a bit intense over Maeko-san, is she really special to you?" she asked curiously.

Seiko pulled a face. "Goro-sama isn't very sociable...he prefers sleeping on his throne.." Seiko smiled, she personally had crafted Goro-sama a throne of wood and plush fabrics.

"I know, I guess I feel a bit lost without her. She was my bestfriend since middle school and well it feels weird to share her with anyone." Misaki admitted not wanting to add 'Excepte when he throws tempertantrums and kicks things all over the place.' But she smiled none the less.

"Well yes, very," she blushed, "She was really the first person outside my family I cared about. My first real friend before I met Shojiro-kun. Ah...Oh Maybe I shouldn't call him that now, since he is a sensei. But yes she is really special to me."

"He has a throne? Isn't that uncomfortable?" Misaki looked curious as she cut the cake and gave Seiko a slice.

Seiko laughed and gave Misaki a friendly hug again, Seiko didn't worry so much about people's personal space.

"Thing is though you can't hang onto her forever, you both are going to have separate lives, going to be different people. And if Kanaye makes her happy can't you just like that about him?"

She sighed and looked up at the sky. "Its a specially made throne."

Misaki blushed but let her hug her. She actually enjoyed the feeling of someone wanting to hug her. Something her family didn't do very much, and any physical affection was always a welcome thing. Misaki returned it by putting her head on Seiko's sholder and giving her a nuzzle like a bunny would.

"I can try, it's just that I want it to be someone that won't make her cry. And if he leaves her she's going to be very upset and...I don't want to think about that. I wish I was a guy at times, I could make her happy." She blushed at saying that and laughed. "I'm horrible. Someone might say I'm acting like she used to. Putting her in a cage or something."

"OH? Where did you get it made?" Misaki asked and put some cake in Seiko's mouth, "Here does it taste good?"

Seiko moved slightly to take her own cake. After all cute as Misa was Seiko was GOOD now, so she had to avoid too much strange behaviour with girls she has just met who had boyfriends.

"You wish you were a guy...um Misa-chan that makes it sound like you fancy her." she teased.

"I..." Misaki blushed deeply and sighed, "I might. I really don't know. At times I think I do, then at others I don't. It's confusing. Oh sorry about the cake. I used to do that all the time with one of my friends in grammer school, he never would eat so when he started to talk I would put it in his mouth."

She smiled, "What about you Yukizaki-semapi, is there anyone that you like?"

Seiko raised her eyebrows, clearly there was more to this girl than she had thought. After all that feeding her male friend thing was just a bit weird.

"If you aren't certain then maybe you don't?" Seiko commented simply.

"Haa, I don't like anyone right now, almost everyone in this school just isn't right..."

She noticed the look and laughed some, "If you knew Tomo-kun, you would know why I had to force feed him a lot. He hated food, I don't know why, and he only would eat what I gave to him. He was trying to get my other friend jealous so she would go out with him. Just haven't broken the habit of doing that I guess."

Misaki shrugged some but smiled, "Maybe..." she blinked, "Isn't right?"

"I know, I'm trying to break it," she blushed some and ate her cake slice thinking.

"Well, I tried to but I think she doesn't want to think about it," Misaki said softly and looked down at the cake. "I don't know if I'm in love with her, or if it's just something I'm going though. Truth is, she's one of the few people I actually trust whole heartedly. I want her to be happy with someone that she loves and loves her back completely and can help her deal with whatever problems come about."

She smiled at Seiko, "Guess that's just natural to want for a best friend."

"If she is with someone and you told her that it probably made her be in a very difficult position, I mean you are her best friend, but she loves Kanaye." she said, remembering her conversation with Kanaye a while ago.

"I know, I just...I know I have to back off, but it's hard because his last girlfriend Shiori told me how he got upset when she left him. And mind you she left to get things sorted and didn't tell him that they were breaking up, but still, why would you treat someone you loved like that, even after you broke up. Sure it hurts for a while, but time heals things." Misaki said gently and closed her eyes and took a bite then chuckled.

"And now you're probably thinking, crazy pink haired girl has too much thinking and she's dumb enough to try to get with her best friend."

Misaki nodded, "I...know that feeling."

"Its just...it seems unlikely to work, so its best to avoid getting hurt right? You are only what, sixteen after all? Far too young for this right?" she smiled gently, and stared at Misaki trying to work her out. She seemed pretty needy in terms of her friendships, and a very strange mix of traits. Seiko sighed and wondered if being around such emotionally damaged people was really good for her.

She'd just have to try hard to keep them cheerful, and not ruffle anyone's feathers.

"Yeah I guess so. Maybe I should just let it be and let it play out. Not doing anyone any good to worry right?" Misaki said and looked thoughtful. Once Seiko got to know her she'd learn more that Misaki's needy nature with friends came from her family situation, and her own questioning who she really was. Settling back though she smiled brightly at Seiko. "You know you should become one of those advice columnests in the paper. You know what you're talking about."

Taking a bite, and after chewing she added, "Hey Yukizaki-sempai, would you like to go walking around town with me for a bit. I'd like to get my head out of deep thoughts for a while."

She at least wanted to show Seiko that she was normally a happy person.

"I bet you you can," Misaki said cheerfully and grinned brightly. "If you've seen the bad things then you know what not to do in the future, and that makes you even more special because you can see things before someone else can. I guess, you seem like an awesome person, Sempai."

"Ah...Hummm we can go check out some of the clothing shops, OH there's a game shop I want to see, could we stop there please? Ah...can I call you Seiko-sempai?" Misaki asked happily.

"I suppose so." Seiko said agreeably. "But its not quite that simple Misaki-san." she said tactfully. There were more things to it than what Misaki seemed to believe.

"Sure I need a new pair of shoes for school. And a new set of shirts." she looked at Misaki, this girl had a strange feel about her though. Particularly the pink hair, after all hair like that would need a lot of work and time...

"Well I think a person can really be just about anything they really want to be, even if it seems hard at first." She smiled at Seiko. "It's like people saying that there are no nice people in the world. It's true that not everyone can be perfectly nice all year round, though that would be really sweet, but like...I can't believe that people are naturally bad, or dangerous. It just seems to me that with the right friend people don't have to do things that are wrong, you know."

Misaki nodded, "Okay. Oh, you buy your clothing? OH, can I make you an outfit some time Seiko-sempai? You have a nice form so I'd want to make you something that would show that off. I still need to learn how to make shoes though."

"I'd quite like to be a teacher I think, for little kids or maybe something with animals..." she mused nibbling at her thumb. "Its hard to decide your future when you haven't got something you are really good at." she sighed.

"I mean the people at my Church actually have a program to help people choose a job, part of their helping the youth thing." she shrugged, being a Christian wasn't that common really, though Inburi did have a church, her father's family had converted after living in England for a few years.

"Well I don't know." the idea of being dressed up reminded her of how her mother had treated her, like a doll, trying to make her 'beautiful'.
