"Well she just...said a lot of stuff, about women and how they are bad and that, well lots of stuff. I mean its only recently I realized some of it is lies. I mean for years she had me actually believing that if you kissed a girl before you were married your teeth would rot and you'd get diseases." he sighed a little sadly. "It kind of just makes you a bit dead to all those romantic ideas when you have your Mother saying things like that all your life."

"I don't know Maeko well, but I imagine many female friends would be protective of a friend of their's going away with someone they hardly know right?" he mentioned, trying to reason it through.

"Well that is kind of where we are similar, I don't mean to upset people when I forget they aren't stupid and talk to them like they are idiots, or when I forget how to boil water. But Misaki, all the time I have known you you have never been manipulative."

He smiled and looked a little embarassed at her last comment, although one of his main failings was his arrogance about how clever he was. "Well I don't know about being smarter than the teachers." he said in a tone that suggested quite the opposite.
