Moving Day
Who: Toru and Kanaye
When: Pre-Shadow!Misa
Where: Toru's dorm room... again.
What: Kanaye moves in.
Why: The school doesn't like first years who live solo in double rooms.

Something truly rare was occurring in Toru's life. He expected someone in his dorm. Not Tom or the investigation team breaking in. An actual person. For this day was the day in which Toru got a roommate. It was nerve-wracking. He'd never shared a room before, and even though it was just Kanaye moving in, it was still distressing. The pressure had actually driven Toru to a new point of desperation: the need to clean his room. That hadn't been the case in ages, and he was woefully out of practice. For about thirty minutes he vainly attempted to organize things so that there'd at least be room for the other boy, before realizing that the main issue was hiding his porn. Especially those volumes borrowed from Yoshimi. Soon enough, there was a large pile of various questionable material gathered together, and he put great effort into evenly stowing it all under his mattress.

Once the room was "cleaned," Toru sat down on his bed to await Kanaye, re-reading a worn copy of Duoblade for the umpteenth time.

Kanaye smiled to the driver, who cheerfully waved back. He was glad that damn kid was gone. Kept stinking up the car whenever he asked for a ride home drunk. He can't exactly call the cops or tell his parents, cause it wouldn't do anything, but sheesh.

Kanaye was thinking somewhat happier thoughts. The only things he liked about his old house were the servants and the alcohol, and he had all of ONE ROOM to clean. And as for the alcohol? He could find that in other places, and he always had a drinking buddy. Toru didn't seem like the kind of person to drink, but at least he was someone to talk to when he couldn't think straight. He'd probably talk about how sexy Maeko is and how he'd like to have sex with her, but Toru wouldn't tell Maeko things like that.

Carrying two rather full bags of luggage, he started heading towards Toru's dorm room. Or rather, his and Toru's dorm room. Oh well, words are words. Upon reaching it, he put down a bag and knocked on the door. "Yo, Toru-kun!" Kanaye announced. "It's me!"

Upon hearing the knock, Toru somewhat carefully put the manga down and walked over to open the door. Upon doing so, he found himself face-to-face with his upperclassman/friend... and now roommate. How surreal. He smiled and bowed.

"Er... welcome, senpai! This room isn't much, b-but I hope you'll like it in here." A moment later, he noticed Kanaye's belongings on the ground.

"Oh, right... you should bring that it, right? Come on in." With that, he stepped back inside, making way for the other boy.

Kanaye smiled at Toru. "Anything's better then back home, Toru-kun." he said as he walked inside, taking his stuff with him. He noticed Toru's side immediately and sat on the empty bed. He looked around, looking for something, but he sighed when he couldn't find it. He didn't really need any porn, but he still wanted to know what Toru had.

Kanaye shrugged and started taking stuff out of his luggage. He was simply taking stuff out so he could put it in a dresser or closet whenever he could find one. It was fairly standard stuff: uniform, shoes, socks, a dress, some formal clothes, some casual clothes, and two bottles of sake. He offered one to Toru. "You want to have some in celebration?" he asked with a smile, already opening his.

When Kanaye gave that searching look around the room, Toru felt a sudden compulsion to sit down on his bed. "I suppose so, huh..." was his idle response to his senpai's remarks on his home situation.

As Kanaye unpacked, Toru sat and watched, not entirely sure what to say. Was that a dress? He didn't want to think about that. And sake? Really?

"N-no, I couldn't! Kanaye-kun, I-I don't drink!" This would be his sole chance to lay down rules, he had a feeling. Oh well. "You can, I guess. Just put that somewhere inconspicuous."

Kanaye rolled his eyes. That's what they all said, but they give up eventually. Granted, they "give up" by not struggling hard enough when he tried to shove the bottle down their throat, oh well.

And he could ALREADY take something out of context. Yay. "Suit yourself, Toru-kun." he finally said, taking a drink from the bottle. "Seriously dude, this is quality stuff. Not the kind of shit you buy at a supermarket. THIS is alcohol." Kanaye punctuated the remark by taking another drink.

	He found himself very tempted to roll his eyes, or complain, or something. Instead, passive acceptance. "Well, if it's what you want, I-I'm not going to stop you. I'm just not interested." Kanaye smiled at Toru as he finished the first bottle. He wondered, briefly, if he should finish the second bottle, but he decided to save it for later. He put it in the dress, and started putting his clothes away. Desperate for small talk, he started "I'm surprised your room is this clean. You don't seem like the kind of person who would clean your room all that often."

	This elicited a guilty look from Toru. "Er... to be honest, I-I only cleaned b-because you were coming." He prodded at a stack of DVDs with one foot, having sat up. Kanaye chuckled. "Well, thanks, Toru-kun. But I'm used to messes like that. It's what to expect from someone who's main hobbies are soccer, girls, and drinking. You don't really think of them as very clean people, right?" he asked smiling. "Don't worry about it, Toru-kun."

After he finished putting his clothes away, Kanaye turned around, looked Toru in the eye, and began to speak. "Now. Where is your porn?" he asked, face and voice completely serious. "I don't really want to use it/watch it/whatever with it, I just want to know what you have."

Kanaye nodded quite earnestly. "Yes. I do. I'm probably buzzed at the time, but still." he shrugged and started walking around, looking for porn. He pretty much looked everywhere BUT where it actually was. "You see, what kind of porn a man has tells you a lot about the man. Some men like bondage. Others like yuri. I'm imagining you have yaoi porn somewhere. Either way, it's something all men must do." Kanaye managed to say something THAT blindly stupid and untrue with a straight face. "It's like an onion. You get to peel off the layers one by one, and one of those layers is porn. It's a sexy layer."

With only a slight quirk of his brows, Toru addressed Kanaye. "You're... serious. Er... no offense, but... most people don't start looking for their friends' porn, right off the bat. You'll... I dunno. Y-you'll have plenty of time when I'm not in the room, senpai."

Nonetheless, he remained firmly seated on his bed. "I-it's kinda creepy, you know. T-that you'd want to look for that, in my room."
