WHO: Keiichi and Yoshimi
WHAT: Conversation between a drunken yaoi fangirl and a grieving chef
WHERE: Outside the dorms
WHEN: Midnight, after confirmation of Misaki's Shadow.
WHY: Fate.

For Keiichi, the world was spiralling from bad, to good, to worse.

His girlfriend -- no, not Kozue, Misaki, for those of you not paying attention at home -- was now trapped in Paradise, her Shadow running amok and trying to kill and/or rape his colleagues.

No wonder he couldn't sleep. Closing his eyes tended to result in images of his sweet Misaki rampaging with knives or hookbill cleavers.

That was why he found himself outside the dorms, in his pajamas, just trying to catch a breath of fresh air and clear his head.

Yoshimi had no idea how she'd managed to end up at the dorms. The party she'd been to, Point A, had been downtown. Her apartment, Point B, was also downtown. The Nanakamado dorms, her current location, were uptown, indicating that she had somehow managed to get desperately lost between Point A and Point B.

At least I already know how to get home from the school...? Ugh, this is so stupid! Why didn't I just ask for directions before I left!?

Drunken overconfidence of the "no, no, I can walk it myself" variety had been an important factor, but she didn't want to think about that too hard. As it stood, she was too tired to keep walking — stiletto heels were a great choice for making yourself look older in order to attract college boys (and, indeed, it had been a successful night in this regard), but they were an absolutely abysmal choice for stumbling halfway across Iburi in.

Still drunk and preoccupied with thoughts of how much her feet were starting to hurt, Yoshimi didn't notice the lone figure standing outside of the dorms until she'd managed to get fairly close.

"Ito-senpai?" she ventured, not entirely sure that it was him. Why would he be out this late? In his pajamas, no less?

As Keiichi paced outside the dorms, he came face to face with an image that, really, he hadn't expected to encounter outside of Kabukicho (at least, that was the impression he got from his dad's stories.)

The woman approaching him was sort of wobbling at him on what had to be three-inch heels. Her outfit was...well, Keiichi was a taken man, and he felt slightly awful for the first glance he couldn't help himself from taking.

Definitely cute. Definitely lost. And definitely--

Yoshimi?!

The words "Ito-senpai" brought the situation into sharp focus. "Tachibana-san," he asked, not quite believing this. "Are you okay? I thought you didn't live in the dorms?" Well, maybe she'd moved in. Lots of people had recently, after all.

"This is... I, uh..." Yoshimi trailed off - not without slurring her words a little - and tried to get her head clear. When did it get so hard to hold onto a thought for more than a few seconds?

"I live that way," she said, pointing in the general direction of her apartment with great drunken authority. "I took a wrong turn or somethin'. I dunno. I thought this was the way home until I got here." She blinked in confusion for a moment, then switched to her usual enthusiastic grin.

"But don't worry, senpai! I know how to get home from here, so the situation is under control!" Yoshimi tried to wave her arms in the borderline-universal gesture for "ALRIGHT! I'M PUMPED NOW!", overcompensated, and barely kept herself from falling over.

"...er. Anyway, what're you doin' out all late and sshtuff?"

What in the I don't even -- is she drunk?

Keiichi began flailing a bit mentally. He'd been slightly tipsy at Ikeda-san's birthday party, but not like this. His first live drunken person.

"Where DO you live," Keiichi asked, trying to get something resembling a grasp on this situation. "And where did you come from?"

He was half ready to lunge forward and try to catch her, but she righted herself. Sigh of relief followed.

"I'm out here because I can't sleep," he admitted, shrugging his shoulders. "The whole "girlfriend's a shadow" thing isn't doing well for my sleep schedule."

Yoshimi had, in fact, passed drunk, run the metaphorical red light at sloshed, and was now wavering somewhere between utterly wasted and clinically dead.

"I got a' apartment!" she announced, looking quite proud of herself. "And I was walkin' back to it from a party, but then I got lost." Less of a point of pride, really, so she hurried on to the next subject instead of dwelling on it.

"That's bad, the thing 'bout your girlfriend. 'm sorry," she slurred, voice full of drunken sincerity. "I wouldn't be able to sleep either, if it was me." A pause.

"But don't worry, senpai! We'll all go into Paradise and get her back quick, so the situation is under control!" In a stunning display of short-term memory failure, Yoshimi tried to repeat her earlier move; this time, she did lose her balance, and she found herself idly wondering why the ground was coming up to meet her so quickly.

Yeah, this was rapidly turning into one of those situations Keiichi didn't know if he could handle. Going into Paradise and using head-gods to save people? Fine.

Drunken member of team? No answer.

"Thanks, Tachibana-san," he replied. Though, this whole episode at least was making his mind focus on something else, even if it was trying to present the slightly clumsy and now drunk girl from hurting herself.

Keiichi crouched down, trying to help pick the wayward first year up to a vertical base. "Do you have any idea how far the apartment is from the school," he asked, hoping she was at least coherent enough for that. Otherwise, this had potential to spiral downhill in a hurry.

"Uh-huh!" Not even the fall had managed to damage her absolute self-confidence. Yoshimi was a happy drunk. "It'ssh about twenty minutes away from the school, 'cept when I've got these on." She indicated her ridiculously high heels.

"They make me look older, but they're stupid." She glared at the shoes as if her disapproval would make them act less stupid from here on out. "So my feet hurt and it takes a whole bunch of time to walk anywhere."
