Who: Tomako and Oubai, and open
What: Study Study study
Where: School library
When: Thursday after school after Maeko's dungeon
Why: Because the fates fortold of this meeting.

Nanakamado high school library was daunting, even for a boy that tended to like to be around them. Tomako sat tappng the back of his notebook as he sat at one of the tables off in the corner amidst the rows and rows of books. He wondered if he would ever spend time in here when he graduated and rubbed the back of his neck, provided of course that he did graduate. But that was why he was there right?

"You have to go," pleaded his neechan, her blue eyes watering. "Please, oh please, he said he would come honest, and Oubai-sempai keeps his word."

Why oh why did she have to pull that crap with him? She wasn an expert at getting him to do what she wanted, not that she did it a lot though, he'd noticed. Tomako frowned. Just who was this Oubai guy anyway? How did his sister know a second year that had more clout then his mother had. Oh how she would love to know Misaki was rubbing elbows with such people. Maybe he should just let her know, at least then he could get Misaki back into the house where he could keep an eye on her like he promised his Neesan.

Still, she seemed happy out there, and that was what counted right?

Flipping open his book he looked over the chapter then made a face. How he hated this subject, Japanese classics. Ugh. He would rather stick his head in a toliet and give himself a good flushing rather then have to try to understand the nature of these beasts.

"This guy better know what he's doing," he muttered and shut the book with a snap. He'd been failing his tests, again, and 'borrowing' notes from his friends weren't working anymore. If he got caught cheating then he would be kicked out of the school, and if he didn't make the grades look good then his mother would have fit and tell him that he should have been dropped back down to first grade. She was good at that, making things feel like it was all some big social and scientific project.

Tomako looked too the door then his watch muttering, "If he's not here in the next five minutes, I am so gone."

Oubai had arrived. He was sitting opposite the counter, behind a stack of textbooks, and watching the doors as they opened and students came inside. He didn't seem particularily reassured by the thought of a problem child, and expected it would waste his time.

But he would try.

Tomako was just about to get up and leave when he noticed Oubai. Misaki had given him a picture on his phone to know him. Sighing some, Couldn't he have come over here?, the boy walked over to Oubai, and bowed slightly.

"Oubai-sempai, I presume. I'm Aoi's younger brother Aoi Tomako-san, pleased to meet you. I hope that I'm not being a bother to you."

Polite appearances worked better when you didn't sigh. Ergo, Kouchisei found himself thinking the boy was a fake and liar. To show he wasn't a fool, he didn't get up to shake the boy's hand. He was sitting in his chair.

"Humph. You're not pleased, or you wouldn't have a face like a smacked backside."

And if he was going to talk here, spend his time even, then he wanted honesty and respect.

Misaki had been right, this guy was tough, but Tomako could respect that. He gave a small smile but nodded his head, "I do beg your pardon then. I was waiting for you and I thought you would be here earlier. I humbly applogize for being rude. My name is Tomako, as I said, I'm pleased to meet you Oubai-san."

Kou looked up from his book. He didn't care for the boy, strangers, even: he was doing this for Misaki. Probably so he wouldn't owe her any more favours, he thought. He looked away into space and was thinking momentarily. He didn't want to teach at home. That was... his private space.

"Whatever. What do you need help with?"

"Really honestly Japanese classics," he sat down. "And some math, science and history are no problems."

He sat across from Kou, "I'm curious as to how you found out about this. My sister sent me a note to come here and talk to you, but she didn't say why."

"Humph. Japanese classics aren't as important to the curriculum. Don't talk to me like I'm a moron. My time's important; I don't want to waste it on lies and deceit."

He returned his attention to his book. If Tomako continued lying, he wouldn't bother teaching.

Tomako growled some under his breath and shoved the book over, "Fine then...Please help me with my math and sciene. I got caught cheating on my last one and if I don't pass this next make-up I'm going to be not only in trouble with the school, but I'm going to be in trouble with my parents and trust me when I say that they are worse then this school. So will you help me, Please?"

He lowed his head humbly. Damn...why did this have to happen. He just needed to prove to them that he had good grades and they would stop bothering him.

Combo breaker!

Having dreams is as normal and ordinary as anything under the sun. Many accept it as human nature. But having a vivid and somewhat disturbing dream that continued for days as if experiencing a serialized story was something Nayuki could not dismiss as normal. His best friend won't be able to help him fast enough as he feels that another night of something similar to the past dreams would most definitely drive him insane. With very little to go on, he decided to go to the school's library and do a little digging for something to help him deal with the rather strange phenomenon. He wasn't exactly expecting much from the school library in terms of the topic he was hunting for, since interpreting dreams isn't exactly part of ANY curriculum in Nanakamado Escalator School, but he was surprised to find not one... but three large volumes relating to dreams.

"Good grief! These things are actually heavy!" Was the first thing that came to Nayuki's mind as he carried all three books around to look for a vacant seat. He knew that the library could house a lot of students at any time, but he found it strange that all of the tables he's come across so far have already been taken. Then, it came to him. "Ah, right... We've got big exams at the end of the month." Sighing in defeat, he was about to turn back and return the volumes where he found them. But suddenly spotting a table only occupied by two people, he decided to take the chance. Approaching the table, he calls out to the two in a hushed tone, "I'm sorry to intrude, but is it possible if I could join you on this table? There aren't any other vacant spots left." And as soon as he reaches the angle where he can see both of their faces, he immediately identified one of them. "Ah, O - Oubai-san." Nayuki mentall facepalmed and did his best to put out a calm exterior despite the sudden tension. "Y - you don't mind if I sit here, do you?" He then nods to the vaguely familiar youngster. "Hello, there. I'm Tonbo Nayuki. I'm with Oubai-san in class 2-C. Pleased to meet you."

Tomako was just finishing up with Kou when this boy wandered over. He took one look and sniffed. He seemed as clumsy and inept at social situations as his sister was. Maybe worse by the way he studdered on the name.

Tomako glanced him over and shrugged some, "Aoi Tomako, Hello." He looked at Oubai, "Do you know him Sempai?"

Kou seemed to need a moment to think.

"Nayuki-san's in my year."

Truthfully, he knew nothing about his classmate, and had no intention to; he liked keeping his own company. He could control it, and who got to come close. He looked up at that.

"Do you want something, eh?"

It was far too late for Nayuki to correct himself with his class statement, but since Kouchisei has supported the faux reassignment, he just had to play along with it. He grinned and slowly set the three heavy volumes down as he replied to Tomako, "Ah, yes. As Oubai-san here said. We're in the same year..." There was a pause, letting his statement hang a bit before continuing, "There really are any other seats available in the library right now, and I've suddenly had this need to read up on some topics. Seeing you here with vacant seats was merely a coincidence, Oubai-san."

It also took a while before his brain processed the younger one's name. "Hang on... You don't happen to be related to Aoi Misaki now, do you?" He slowly took to his seat, staring in wild curiosity at Tomako.

"Yes, she's my older sister actually," Tomako sat back eyeing the older boy carefully. He did not like where this was going. "And how do you know my sister, she's not in your class."

"It's quite interesting an interesting story, really." Nayuki began in a hushed tone, as he started on the first of the three Dream Volumes. "I went off to look for the Student Council President on my first day of class... You know? Formality's sake and such. But since I didn't know where it was, I ended up wandering the stairs." He stopped flipping the pages when he found a rather large illustration of two dogs howling up at a very large full-moon. He then left the first volume open on that particular page as he started flipping at the next volume. "Anyway, your sister and I quite literally bumped into each other. It turns out she was in a rush to get some prints from the Student Council's Office." He stopped again when he found an illustration of an aged man in a jester's outfit. He paused for a bit and took the time to meet the gazes of Tomako and Kouchisei. He gave a shrug and reached for the third Dream Volume. "Long story short, we had quite an interesting conversation to and from the Student Council's Office, she got her prints, I didn't get to meet with President Retsu, and we parted ways after I took her back to her classroom."

Nayuki stopped flipping pages on the third volume when the illustration of a person holding up a brush in front of a canvass came to full-view. He stopped talking all of a sudden and just placed the illustrated page of each volume side by side. He started rubbing his temples as he read through each of the entries accompanying the illustrations. He visibly frowns, looking absolutely bothered by something. The expression disappears as he gives another glance back at Kouchisei and Tomako. "I run into Aoi-san in the corridors and the flower shop every now and then. She's quite a sunshine, isn't she? I just hope she's doing okay, now." He looks straight at Tomako's eyes, unflinching, "You do know of your sister's P.A. System Incident, right?"

Tomako stiffled a yawn and put his hand to his cheek, then watched. "Fasinating. So basically she bumbled her way into meeting you. Typical."

He stared at him hard when Nayuki mentioned the flower shop. What was he doing going to Hanakotoba? "Sunshine huh? Yeah I suppose you can say that. Why do you care how she's doing. You're not her boyfriend, or are you hoping to be?" Tomako stared back, "Yes,and I would thank you kindly not to mention it again."

Kouchisei snapped his book shut. He came to the library to find solitude; now he was teaching a brat and listening to a boy who he barely remembered the name of.

"The two of you are making a scene," he said. "Keep the noise down."

"Ah, sorry, Oubai-san." Nayuki then gestures to Tomako, "We can continue the discussion later. Sorry for interrupting you two." He finally notices the stack of books around Tomako and nods in a matter-of-fact way. "Goodluck on your tests, Aoi-san."

He buries himself back into the volumes to try and make sense of his recent dreams. The more read, though, the more it didn't make any sense. He's starting to wonder if it's just how his brain was telling him that he was going to go insane fairly soon. Nayuki personally hopes it isn't the case.
