Who: Maeko, K1
What: RAGE
Where: School gates.
When: Before school the day after the PA incident.
Why: Conclusions have been reached.

Putting it off had only made Maeko more angry, though there wasn't much else she could have done. She'd had to stick with Misaki and finish her homework and at least start on the school website. She had been planning to leave confronting Keiichi until after school but that would mean sitting in a classroom with him for hours before she got this done with. So she was perched on top of the wall by the school gates, kicking her legs as she waited for him to approach.

"Misa-chan told me what you did." She said when he finally did, pushing herself off the wall and longing near him, standing altogether too close and glaring up as if he wasn't a good head and shoulders and then some taller than her. "How dare you take advantage of her like that?"

Realistically, Keiichi had been expecting today to be a nice, normal day.

That expectation had been shattered when he saw Maeko approach, murder in her eyes. There was only one logical explanation to him.

Her words confirmed it quite effectively. Figured. So much time had passed that he figured this was never going to come up.

Unfortunately for Akuba-san, Keiichi wasn't in the mood to deal with her being Aoi-san's chaperone. Not considering everything that had happened lately.

"I didn't take advantage of anyone." The words were quiet. Confident. Because, well, he hadn't taken advantage of anyone. "Not that you'll believe me." He offered a shrug.

He was going to deal with this as calmly as he could. Shouting back would only give her what she wanted. "What did Aoi-san tell you?"

"You kissed her. She cried." Maeko said with forced, unnatural calmness. Both were technically true. This was at most a contributing factor in Misaki's current upset but it was the only one that was even vaguely tangiable. Maeko might not have been particularly good at thinking straight when it came to Misaki but she knew to tackle the problems she could potentially do something about first.

"If you distill the story down to that, then yes, I suppose it's accurate," Keiichi replied. Still calm. She was clearly angry about this, he knew. But he wasn't, and that was what was preventing him from snapping like he had in the dungeon. "Of course, that's only true if you blatantly ignore context, which you are exceedingly good at."

Keiichi looked at the shorter girl. She wasn't the most stable person, and yet, he wasn't especially afraid. "Considering she offered for me to kiss her, I don't necessarily see why you're so upset about this."

Of course he knew why she was upset, but saying "you're psychotically obsessed with Misaki" wasn't the best way to make peace.

"Liar." Maeko snarled. It didn't actually seem too farfetched. Misaki was pure like that. She wouldn't know the meaning of something like that. Even if it was true then he should have known better.

"You're despicable. You should have just died back there."

It took him a moment to process that. Really, now? Over a *kiss*? It...annoyed him. Upset him.

But...no. He wasn't going to be baited into a shouting match with her.

"You want me dead over a kiss."

Another moment of silence. And then, probably not the reaction she wanted.

A chuckle.

"That's rather immature of you, Akuba-san. Even if I hated you, I'd step in front of you with my shield to take a blow for you, because that's what being a team player is all about. Clearly, you don't care about such things. You care about two people. Yourself and Aoi-san. That's it."

A slight pause for breath, and...

"You treat people terribly because real life doesn't live up to your image of Aoi-san. She is a person, if you haven't noticed. Not a doll. She is fully capable of making her own decisions. She's a young woman. You are her friend, Akuba-san. You are not her parent. Deny anything I've said."

He was baiting her. Possibly into violence, he knew, but like Hell he cared. Keiichi could take Maeko, provided she didn't peel him.

But if she did, maybe THAT would finally make his spacy Cooking Club comrade realize what a psychotic loon her best friend was.

The laugh certainly wasn't the reaction she wanted. He thought this was funny. He had forced himself onto - defiled the only person in the world who mattered and now he was laughing about it.

But she wasn't surprised. They'd just laughed when she told them that Misaki was hurting herself, too. He was just another of them.

"Misaki's pure. She needs protecting from people like you, people who just want to see her die so that they can laugh at it. There is one thing I can do of any worth and I am going to do it." She signed furiously as she spoke. "Whether you and everyone else wants me to or not."

This time, he didn't laugh. He just..sort of gaped at her.

"...what in the name of God makes you think I want Mi-chan to die? She's my friend. She's my colleague in the Cooking Club. She's going to run it when I graduate. I care about her more than anyone except Kozue."

If there wasn't a, you know, sane answer given to this question, something was going to happen. And it probably wouldn't be good for either party.

"Don't lie." Maeko said, eyes narrowing. "Why would you have done something like that if you cared about her? You're not the first person to try pretending to be close to her so you can hurt her more."

"...Why would I kiss her? I don't know, maybe because I like her? Last I checked, you don't kiss people you don't care about."

Maeko was insane, Keiichi decided. Out of her fucking mind.

"Not that it matters. She didn't want to date me, and I'm taken right now. I'm no threat to you or her, regardless of what you want to believe. It makes you feel better to make me the bad guy, doesn't it? Go ahead. Hit me, if that's what's going to help. I won't fight back."

Sighing, Keiichi looked down at her. She was...just unbalanced enough to do it, he felt.

Maeko was tempted but shook her head. She couldn't hurt him nearly enough that way to make it worth the fact that he would find some way to use it against her.

"You've made her cry. Don't go near her again." She said, turning and leaving.
