Who: Keiichi, Misaki, Open to all.
What: Cooking Club Open House (looking for new members)
Where: Cooking Club Room
When: Saturday. After-school
Why: Because the current members MIGHT burn down the school in contravention of the club motto.

The club room had been polished to spotlessness, and a stack of leaflets sat on one of the tables near the room's entrance, advertising the virtues of the Cooking Club. It was about fifteen minutes before the room would be open to the students of the school, and behind Keiichi, the existing members worked dilligently on their cookies. After all, what would a Cooking Club open house be without yummy treats?

Sitting on one of the desks, feet kicking, his mind wandered to the events of yesterday. He still didn't quite know what was going on, but he would find out eventually. At least, he hoped that would be how it worked.

"Where's Misaki," he asked himself, referring to his first year second-in-command. The pink-haired girl was quite easy to talk to, he noted, and was also the only person who'd ever expressed any interest in being in the club to begin with. Hopefully, he could grab a few moments with her before the flood of future Cooking Club members entered.

Flood? Right. Maybe a trickle, if he was lucky.

"Senpai! Are you in here?" She was balancing several boxes in her arms as she carefully came into the room. Looking from around the boxes she beamed at Keiichi. "There you are! I'm so glad I found you! I made some treats at home last night, since it would make the room messy."

She turned sideways to him and slightly nuged her hip at him so he would notice the bag she was carrying with her, "I also brought fliers with me that noted the free food. I'm sure that will get people in here."

Misaki smiled at him, "I hope this isn't too much, I have tarts, Onigiri, both the sweet and normal kind, imyokan, some green tea cookies and chocolate balls, taiyaki, Mochi, some small cups of Anmitsu, Daifuku, Kushidango, a sweets group that has Yokan, chocolates, and some pumpkin cookie bars. I also made some non sweet treats too, so people that don't like sweets can eat too."

She glanced up at the top two boxes, "Um...those are flower settings and the dishes. I thought that it would be good to have that over napkins. And I got drinks early this morning before I came back with this."

He was, to put it mildly, quite astounded.

"Misaki, you didn't have to," he began, only to be cut off by a sharp shriek behind him, in the direction of one of the ovens.

"But I'm very happy you did," Keiichi continued, without missing a beat. "This must have taken ages. And you didn't have to bring plates..."

She was a lot more optimistic than he was about the success of today's open house. Then again, optimism wasn't a bad quality. Today would be a new beginning for the Cooking Club, if all went well.

"Attention, everyone," he called, trying to grab their attention. "Misaki brought us all sorts of wonderful treats! We have fifteen minutes to set up this room for the newcomers! Everyone pitch in and help out~!"

His words set off a firestorm of activity among the club members, and Keiichi turned away from them to regard his second-in-command.

"You really are amazing," he told the pink-haired girl, smiling.

"Ah...I...ah..." she blushed deeply and smiled as two girls hurried over with a boy to help with the boxes that she had. Misaki grinned as they pulled out the trays and set them out one at a time.

"Oh these are lovely Misaki-chan," said one of the girls as she set out a tray that had the green tea cookies and chocolate balls set up to look like a flower.

"Thanks, I really tried to go for a spring theme for today," Misaki told her and beamed. "I hope Ito-senpai doesn't mind."

She started to work on the flowers that she had brought and set out colorful paper like her brother had taught her with flower decorations on the vases. There were Azalia set up in a green glass vase under white parchment that had a tint of lilac to the color, both pink and purple in color. Then there was the peach colored dish with the Shaku-yaku, a bright pink flower that had green around it to bring out the liveliness. She set out some yellow Roses in a blue vase that curved like a willow, Ericaceae (small bell like flowers that she slipped into a tree shaped holder with white snow willow flowers, and pink cherry blossoms.

Smiling she hoped that it made the room look inviting. It was only when she heard a third year pass by muttering the words, "Kiss up" under her breath that she lost some of the smile on her face. Misaki shook it off and took a breath. She was sure that Ito-senpai would like it. Or at least she hoped that he would.

Keiichi was impressed. Beyond impressed, really.

Aoi-san was a marvel. His own talents for cooking were mediocre at best. In truth, he'd become club president due to no one else in his year or above having wanted the position.

"You're incredible," he replied, pacing around the room as he watched her work. "With your work, we should be able to get lots of recruits!" If the school was open-minded, at least, they would.

What mattered, though, was that he had at least one loyal club member, who was probably better than he was. As long as he had someone to rely on, and be relied on by, Keiichi would run the Cooking Club to the best of his ability.

It didn't hurt that she was quite pretty as well, though...

"Really, thank you so much Senpai! I couldn't sleep last night so I went over the recipies you were talking to Sensei about doing this year. I hope that's alright. I couldn't wait to try them out. Although I did burn a batch of cookies I didn't put enough milk in the mix and they dried up too fast. But the next batch turned out very good." She grinned at him happily.

"I really hope so! If we do well the the archery club captain said he would be happy for the Cooking Club to host the lunch that they serve after every meet." She grinned. "I wasn't sure if you wanted to do that, so I told him that he would have to talk to you. Um...I hope the flower's aren't too much."

Pretty smile, too. Keiichi wasn't the sort of person who could fool himself easily. This one was dangerous. Potentially very dangerous, considering how he was.

"You're one of the best we have," Keiichi told her. "One burned batch of cookies doesn't change that." He took a step closer to her, and lowered his voice to a whisper. "Most of the club hasn't made it *past* burning the cookies."

Stepping back again to give the girl some of her personal space, he nodded. "That would be great. Any chance we get to get the club's name out there we should take. We're not one of the more popular clubs here." Yeah, little wonder with all the jocks running around.

"The flowers are perfect," he said. "Adds a touch of class around here, Lord knows we need one."

She was probably better at this than he was, he noted.

"R-Really Senpai? I..." she was blushing so red that her cheeks were as pink as her hair. "Thank you Senpai. I really appricate a compliment from someone who is as good a cook as you are."

"Well I'll try to get them to think about it, I promise," she gave him the Victory sign and giggled, "Well flower scents help make people feel more hungry. The smell brings them in and then the mixing of food hightens that feeling so..."

Her eyes driffted over to a group of thrid years that were whispering. Feeling suddenly less sure of herself she smiled slightly saying, "I...I might have over done it. I didn't give the others a chance to make food or anything. I'm sorry Senpai, I got carried away again it seems."

"Much better to be too enthusiastic than not enthusiastic enough."

She was blushing. Cute. Very cute, really. Which was, of course, the problem.

Keiichi watched the others, and shook his heads. "Don't listen to them, Misaki," he said. "I wish they cared half as much as you do. Most of them are here for the free food, or to have a club on their resume when they try to get into uni..."

Shaking his head, Keiichi cast a withering look at the third years, who scurried off for a less watched corner to do nothing in without having to put up with their annoying second year club president.

"Don't pay any attention to them," he concluded. "Next year'll be my last here, the club will need a strong leader to take over. You'll be that leader if you keep this up."

"Tha--Thank you Ito-senpai! I'll do my best then!" She smiled happily and grined at him. Then she nodded taking in his words.

"You're really sure of yourself aren't you Ito-senpai. I wish that I was so sure. I mean..." should she tell him about the looks she got from some of the girls? No that wouldn't be right, or fair. Looking up she gave him a kind smile. "I mean you're really brave to be the president. It's a hard job, but you do an amazing job. Thank you for all the hard work you put in. It's easy to do my best with someone like you around being my mentor."

"Oh, that reminds me um, Sato-san wanted to borrow one of my books on cookies for some reasons. I don't know if it's still in the classroom or not. Um...do you think, maybe I can come there after this to look for it?"

Inwardly, Keiichi sighed. This was going to be difficult. It had been some time since he'd been so...immediately grabbed by someone. Usually, it was a slow descent into feeling like this.

Probably not good at all, but by now, he was used to it.

" It's only because I have willing cooks like you that I'm able to be a good leader," he stated. "Besides, this is what I've wanted to do since I was little. And you don't need to call me that. It's too formal." He frowned momentarily. Formality was one of the few things that bothered him. "Call me Keiichi. Easier that way."

Besides, if he could get rid of the formality...

"Of course you can," he replied. "I'll go with you if you want. I don't expect this to take long, unfortunately. Cooking's not for everyone."

A glance around the room seemed to confirm this fact.

"Um..." he was letting her use his first name? But he was her senpai...then again Sato-senpai had said the same thing to her, but she didn't feel at the time it was right. Still if he wanted her too.

"Okay, Keiichi-senpai," Misaki said softly but smiled none the less. "And thank you, for offering. I'm sure with your help I'll get my book back, and I'm sure that we'll get more people in here. They just...They just have to know we're here."

Misaki furrowed her brow some as if in deep concentration then grinned, "I know! We can have some of the girls go around on the other floors and offer some of the treats and tell people there are more down here."

"Thanks," he replied, letting a smile play on his lips. "That feels better already. I want the Cooking Club to be close. I may be your mentor, but you are already better than me in many ways. I think of us as equals."

She was a better cook than he was, as much as it pained him in some ways to admit it. And even if not...Misaki was definitely better at the other elements of a good meal, such as presentation and table setting.

If anything, she would probably end up pushing him. Over the edge of his sanity, probably.

"Excellent idea," Keiichi replied, calling over several of her fellow first years. "You three, gather up plates of the lovely treats and take them around the school. Different floors, each of you! This school shall know the name of its Cooking Club!"

The three first-years looked at each other, then Keiichi, and finally walked off, one making the universal signal of "this guy is clearly nuts" as she left.

"Sometimes," he told his second-in-command, looking at her intently, "I get the feeling that we're the only two people who actually care about the Cooking Club."

"That's not true! I'm sure the others care, they're...they're just not sure how to deal with the other students. We'll show them though! There's lots of stuff we can do, and if we hold bake sales and Oh a cook off over the summer, I'm sure that that would get them to be excited." Misaki grinned.

Shaking her head and looking down blushing some she said softly, "I'm not better then you Keiichi-senpai, I just have a lot of time on my hands to do things. I'm...I'm sure that between the two of us, you know that more people look up to you. You're kind and respected, and the club members really see you as a leader. They...They won't see me." Misaki looked up and smiled, "But I"m happy to help you out in any way I can. Just tell me what needs doing and I'll do it."

"They don't look up to me," he sighed, gesturing to everyone around them. "They're in the club because they think it's the least work out of all of them. If they didn't need something to pad their resumes, they wouldn't be here."

His usual smile crumpled momentarily, and Keiichi shook his head back and forth. "The members who do care like both of us. We're both nice to them, and both try to help them as much as we can. The real members of this club like you."

He nodded. "I just wish people would really care about the Cooking Club." Keiichi was confused. Couldn't the girl tell how many people liked her?

She thought about it. Real members cared....what could she tell him? She did like the club, it was fun, but did she care about it the way he thought that she did. She liked it, it was fun, but care about it and liking something were two very different things. Misaki wanted to believe she cared but there was a nagging feeling in the back of her mind that said otherwise.

Still she smiled at him and nodded, "Hummm, well then we'll just have to get them to care right? Besides like I said you're more the leader type then I can be. I'm just here to lend a hand."

"Alright, alright," he finally gave in. "We'll worry about all that later, yes? I think we have some people coming in!"

He hurried to grab some of the flyers, ready to pitch the club to some new recruits. If he was lucky, of course.

Shiori felt like such a creep for doing this, but free food was free food and it couldn't hurt to learn to cook for other people without needing specific instruction. She tended to cook how she would have liked the food, and her tastes were a bit... different, to say the least. It wasn't that she was a terrible cook or anything (though some might say otherwise), but more practice couldn't hurt.

So when she overheard some students talking about the cooking club being open after school, Shiori decided to check it out. Maybe if she even liked it she would join. It could be fun, she supposed. And wasn't cooking kind of like art? There was certainly the aesthetic appeal to it, and that counted for a lot if she had anything to go by from the cooking contests on TV that her mom would watch sometimes.

It was just practice for art, she told herself as she stood in front of the door. Taking a deep breath, she inhaled the sweet scent of cookies and, as she pushed open the door, heard Aoi-san talk.

"Hi, hi!" she greeted, bounding over to Aoi-san. Noticing how few people there were loitering around, Shiori glanced at the clock and realized she had gotten there right at the time the club was supposed to open... or at least, the time she thought it was supposed to. Hesitating slightly, she asked, "Er, am I early? There's not many people here."

She trailed off, looking unsure of herself.

"Wakanata-senpai! I'm glad you could make it! Welcome," Misaki grinned and giggled some, "No no, you're on time. We just opened up that's all, and well...it is the cooking club."

She got her a plate, "Here help yourself, I made these at home, but a lot of these are treats that we make here, and Ito-senpai is the best. He's our president you know, and very sweet and smart. He can teach you a lot about cooking."

"Are you interested in joining?" She asked sweetly hoping that the girl wasn't there just for the free food. Even so it was nice to see a familar face. She lowered her voice some after two girls passed by, "Um...how...how have you been feeling since...er...well...since..."

Misaki wasn't sure how to bring it up. She had wanted it to be all a bad dream but...she also wanted to know if anyone still felt a chill from what happened.

Sighing in relief, Shiori put a hand to her heart.

"Oh, so this is normal then?" Shiori asked, gazing around at the other members. She frowned, tilting her head slightly. "I would have thought the club would be more popular..."

Even if people didn't really want to learn to cook, they could have come for the food at the very least. That's what Shiori had always assumed had happened, anyway. It seemed the most logical to her.

Accepting the plate Aoi-san handed her, Shiori turned her attention to the seemingly endless supply of food. Her eyes widened as her mouth gaped over.

"Whoa, so much!" she gasped, moving over to the table and grabbing one of everything that looked good. "And you made this, Aoi-san? That's amazing!" She picked up a piece of the imyokan she had selected and bit into it, eyes - if possible - widening further.

"Mmm, if's so g'd!" she mumbled, raising a hand to keep the food from spilling out. Chewing, she swallowed and grinned sheepishly. "If I can learn to cook like this, I'll definitely join! My family doesn't really like it when I cook..." She smiled softly before finishing off the piece of imyokan.

Chewing on it, she blinked when Aoi-san asked how she had been feeling. Why would she car- oooh, the persona thing.

"I've been fine," Shiori said. "Better than fine, actually. It was so cool seeing all of that! I've been drawing so much my skins been, like, stained with ink!"

Switching the plate from one hand to the other, she rose the hand that had previously been holding the treats to show the first year how the side of her hand was black from the ink.

"Have you been feeling okay?" Shiori asked, lowering her hand to her plate to pick up another piece of food.

"Mmm hummm," she smiled kindly. It wasn't the complete truth. Her dreams were being filled with shadowy creatures and the voice that kept whispering the name over and over. Something had been wrong in that place, she was sure of it. But...she wanted to go back there and find out what it really was. What it was that had appeared to them, and why. "I'm okay."

Misaki grinned, "I'm so glad you like it! I wasn't sure how well this batch would come out. But now I'm happy that it came out really well. Ito-senpai gave me the recipes a few weeks ago, I just changed them around some."

"Hee," she folded her hands and nodded to Shiori, "I'll do my best to teach you. It's not easy at times, but when I get to see people really like the food I make, it makes me really happy."

It was Misaki's turn to be amazed then. Her eyes widened more then they already were at the sight of the ink stains. "Wa...Wakanata-senpai! You must have drawn a lot to get your hands that dirty! Oh can I see the pictures please! I'm sure they're as pretty as the one that you drew of the bird. I can't draw animals, only dresses."

"Wah, so I guess I should call you senpai then?" Shiori asked teasingly. "I'll be the best kouhai you've ever had, I promise!" Nodding as though to cement the fact, Shiori giggled and ate another piece of food. Her nose wrinkled slightly; this one tasted almost too normal. It was good, for sure, but Shiori had a... unique preference when it came to foods, to say the least. To taste something so normal seemed almost weird to her. Still, she ate the rest of it and moved onto something different.

About to put it into her mouth, Shiori paused when Aoi-san mentioned that she drew dresses. Her eyes widened slightly.

"You draw dresses?" Shiori asked, eyes wide. "You have to let me see them! I'm terrible at coming up with ideas for clothes! It's always the same old stuff, but m-maybe, if it's okay with you, I could use some of your designs in my pictures? I'd credit of course, but... ooh, now we really have to hang out!"

Her eyes shone brightly, cheeks flushed with excitement. The idea of seeing something new and being able to incorporate it into her pictures always excited her, and the added bonus of making a new friend certainly did nothing to hinder her pleasure.

"Ah," Misaki giggled some. "Well I guess that would be true. But I bet you'll learn a lot more under Ito-senpai. He's a very good teacher and a great president. He's so nice to everyone, and really is very helpful."

She hated to admit it but she liked to be called senpai, even if it was for a short while. Seeing her face at the food, Misaki went over and picked up one of the more unique sweets, "Here try this one, I mixed green and red Anpan. It tasted sweet but a bit tangy. See if you like it."

"Mmm humm, I would love it if you would. Um...I'll have to sneak them out of the house though, my parents aren't to excited about me drawing clothing. They don't see any importance in it. They think I spend too much time on it, but I'll be sure to get my drawings," She grinned and giggled. Was this really making a friend? If it was, then she was happy. Someone actually wanted to hang out with her. Sure it was to just see her designs, but that wasn't that much differnt then people that wanted to hang out for her food. As long as they cared that she was with them that was all that mattered. Right?

"Ito-san is very nice," Shiori agreed with an easy grin. "He lets me have some of his lunch sometimes when I forget mine. It's always so good!"

Taking the offered treat, she once again placed it in her mouth and chewed on it thoughtfully. It was good, but so had the rest of the things here. She really should stop being surprised.

"You're a really good cook too, senpai," she said teasingly. "I'm sure I'd be in good hands if I had you teach me to cook."

Finishing off the rest of her plate, Shiori wondered if she should get more before deciding against it and holding her empty plate somewhat awkwardly. It was weird to have it and not have any food on it. She forced herself to quit thinking about the plate and to focus on what Aoi-san was talking about.

"Can't you just say you're studying?" Shiori asked, tilting her head slightly. "I mean, we can make it a little white lie and maybe even do some studying. If you really want to."

Her nose wrinkled slightly, making it obvious what she thought of that plan.

"I could, but...if they found out I would get into trouble. They barely like the fact that I'm part of this club. At least my mom does, Dad...he never told me how he felt about it, so I just assumed." Misaki flushed just a bit but then smiled at Shiori. "It's okay. I'll come up with something. I'll just tell my mom that an art student wanted to see them if she asks me about it."

"Oh which did you like?! I'm trying to figure out a new recipe that's not too sweet and not too sour." Misaki said as a girl walked by and then quickly changed subject. "I bet I can learn a lot from you Wakanata-senpai about drawing. You're really talented. I saw the bird picture on your journal. I think...I think you should become an illstrator, or a manga-ka. I'll bet you could become fameous with your drawings."

"That's weird," Shiori said bluntly, before realizing that probably sounded rude. "Er, I mean that they wouldn't like you being in cooking club, which is a pretty useful club. If there were an art club here, I know my parents would absolutely hate me going. But I'm sure if I told them I went to a cooking club they'd be really happy. I'd be learning 'life skills' and all that, you know?"

If there were actually an art club, Shiori knew she wouldn't speak a word of it to her parents. It would only cause tension and arguments, and nothing good would come from it. It'd be easier for her to just lie about where her time was spent after school, and to not mention it in any way. Just like she did with her grades. Even the reports the school sent out she kept hidden from her parents; even on the days she had detentions or stayed after just because, Shiori was still the first one home and could usually hide any and all letters relating to her academics. If a letter needed a signature, she would forge one.

She hated being nagged about her schoolwork - or lack of.

"The one I just had was really good," Shiori said. Laughing quietly, she added, "Though you might not want to trust my judgment. I have a weird taste."

At Aoi-san's compliment, Shiori grinned proudly. "That's the plan! As soon as I graduate, I'm going to go to Tokyo and become world famous!"

I'll make my parents regret not paying attention to me! was left unsaid.

Misaki pushed her lips out some into a small pout as she murmered, "Why not start one then."

She looked at Shiori and smiled, "Hey that would be fun, an art club. I'd be happy to join it if you could get it started Wakanata-senpai! I know with you in charge it would be a really interesting club."

The freshman giggled some and was pleased by Shiori's laugh. She thought her Senpai had a cute laugh, one that should be heard more often. It was a shame that it wasn't.

"I'm glad you liked it, and weird taste is good. I know not everyone likes the same thing so I try to make it all differnt tasteing. Maybe something that might seem weird will turn out to be really good." she smiled brightly and grined.

"Well when you become famous, I want to cook you something special okay!"

"Me, run an art club?" Shiori asked, sounding confused. She brightened, blushing as she said, "It'd definitely be fun to join, but I don't think it'd be a good idea for me to be in charge. I'd probably be a terrible teacher."

She laughed again nervously. Though she had people express an interest in her art, she had never had anyone want her to teach them how to draw. She wouldn't know the first thing about how to do it, either, other than demonstrating. And if she had to demonstrate the whole time, she wouldn't be the one really drawing. Though it would just be once a week, so it couldn't be that bad...

Maybe she would volunteer to do it. It couldn't hurt.

"Ooh, something like the ice cream at Kigakiga! Like how you can get hot sauce on it!" Shiori said, perking up at the topic. She absolutely loved the ice cream at Kigakiga. If she could get away with it, that would be all she would eat. "And that'd be amazing if you did, Aoi-san! Now I really have to make it big!"

"But I bet you could be a great mentor if you tried Wakanata-senpai. I was wondering ah..." Misaki paused and blushed some. Her hands rubbed the front of her skirt some. "Um...would you mind terribly if I used your picture of the bird for a design for an outfit. Please. It was so pretty, and I want to make something really cool looking with it.'

Misaki grinned and nodded happily. She was glad to see Shiori having a good time. Even if she didn't join the club, just being around her made Misaki happy.

"Well I'll see if I can mimic their recipie tonight and bring you some for Monday. If that's okay with you...Wakanata-senpai."

"Go ahead!" Shiori said after a moment, eyes wide in surprise. Misaki really wanted to make an outfit with one of her pictures? That was something new for Shiori, for sure. She was glad she had decided to come to today's cooking club meeting. If all of them were like this, she'd have to become a regular member! "Ooh, I'm really excited to see what you have planned for it!

When Aoi-san said she would try to mimic the recipe, Shiori's eyes grew even wider. "Wah, you can do that?! That's... that's too much, Aoi-san! I would never be able to pay you back!"

Or match up to her. It'd be impossible for Shiori, whose only real talent was drawing, to even get close to Aoi-san and her numerous skills.

Misaki giggled delighted that she'd pleased the girl. "Mmmhummm, well I have an excellent picture to work from. And I'll do my best to capture that detail that you put in there. It's so amazing! I wish I could draw like that. Your so lucky Wakanata senpai. You have such skills. I'll bet that you'll get to show your work in a gallery in Tokyo one day, and it'll be worth a lot of money."

Misaki was suprised by Shiori's reaction to her offeing to make the ice cream, "Pa-Pay me back? OH No! No no no no no," she shook her head as if to emphize her point. "I can't let you do that. Um...it's a gift. You liked it so much I'd be happy to do it. Though it's not going to be perfect, but...But I'll try to make you a whole quart if you want. If not, then I'll go buy you some. After all we're friends right? And I can't have a friend pay me back for such a thing."

"You're so nice Aoi-san!" Shiori said with a slight pout. "How about um... we make the ice cream together? That way I can get practice in and we can still hang out. And you wouldn't have to make up an excuse for us to hang out! Er, assuming your parents would be okay with us cooking together at... someone's house."

She paused, wondering whose house they would make the ice cream at if Aoi-san was okay with it. Though she was fine with it, her younger siblings might want to help out or her mom would hover and be a nuisance. She and Aoi-san wouldn't be able to talk about Shiori's art or Aoi-san's drawings if there were people around - not unrestricted, anyway. They would still be able to, but it'd be a censored version.

And if the subject of personas came up, they'd have to scratch it immediately. There was no way Shiori would talk about the personas around her family! They already thought she was weird - saying an apparition appeared in front of her would just cement their belief that she was crazy.

Miskai thought quickly. She couldn't bring Shiori home with her. There were several reasons, the first four being Hotoro, Tomako, Nami and Keito. Her elder sister would start questioning Shiori about her reasons to be there, and if Shiori brought up her drawings Hotoro would make snide comments about how art wasn't worth doing. Tomako would probably get jealous, and Nami and Keito would want to get involved in the ice cream.

She rubbed her head, she wanted to get to know Shiori better in a place that neither of them felt unsure. Pausing she blinked and smiled, "Oh I know, maybe Keiichi-senpai would let us use the club room during the week. That way we could make the stuff and not have to worry about anyone bothering us."

Maeko had been in the cooking club last year and hadn't particularly liked it. It wasn't like she was terrible at cooking, she made damn good melonpan. She just didn't stand out. Just like with everything else.

Still, she'd promised Misaki she'd drop by, figuring that if they had more people in there then more people'd be inclined to join them. And free baked goods were always a good thing.

"Hey Misa-chan, you here?" She said, poking her head through the door. "Man, there's not many people, are there?"

Misaki glanced up and grinned, "Maeko-chan, hello! Wakanata-senpai made it here too. Oh here I was saving you something special."

She hurried over to one of the boxes and pulled out a smaller box that had a bunch of sweet home made Anpan. There were goma an, shiro an, uguisu an, and kuri an, and other assortments. She grinned at Maeko, "Here this is for you. Thanks to your notes and help I passed with a 85."

She handed one to Maeko, "Here, I hope you like them. I'm sorry they're small, I didn't have time this morning to make the bigger ones."

After making sure that the other students weren't going to burn anything down, Keiichi approached the other girls, scooping up leaflets deftly as he went.

"Hello, ladies," he stated, handing each one of the papers. "Welcome to the Cooking Club Open House! Our schedule's on the sheets, and we welcome all comers of all experience levels. We're here to learn, have a good time, and enjoy delicious food!"

With his sales pitch made, he looked at everyone, voice dropped to a whisper.

"You all okay? After...you know..."

Maeko looked in the box and smiled. Misaki was smart. If there was one thing that Maeko loved it was anpan.

"Awesome" She said, putting the box down on a counter and hugging Misaki, grinning. "And congratulations. You deserved it, you know. You were studying too hard not to do well."

When Keichi arrived she turned and nodded.

"Fine. Whatever happened there, it seems it can only happen there. I tried calling the number back weh I was over here but I just got this." She openned her phone, scrolled through messages and produced a single message from the number that had called them in paradise - ':('. He laughed a little, closing her ohone again after a few seconds. "So I guess there's nothing to worry about over here. It's a relief. You're okay too, right Misa-chan?"

She neglected, of course, to mention exactly what she'd been trying to do. It had been stupid to assume that worthless dia thing would be able to do anything useful.

"Yes I think I'll be alright," she paused and looked at the group. "Hey...I was just asking Ito-san if he wanted to come with me to get my book back from your classroom Maeko-senpai. Would you and Wakanata-senpai come with us. Please. I...I lent my cooking book to Sato-san a few days before he..." Misaki again paused thinking of the boy that had left them for good. She'd never gotten the chance to thank him for being there for him, or to ask him to be her friend.

Looking up at the group, "Hey, do you...Do you guys think that Sato-senpai believed in the story too? Do you think...do you think he may have found a way into that world? What if he did...I mean. It was so scary there as a group. What if a person went alone there...I...I hate to think what might have happen to them."

Maeko shook her head. "He was smart, he'd have known it was dangerous and got out of there, I'm sure." She moved the box of anpan into her bag for now and squeezed Misaki's wrist. She couldn't tell for sure if the younger girl was getting upset for sure but it was a good thing to avoid.

"I think they cleared out his desk already but we can look for sure. If it's already been moved then we can ask a teacher. I'm sure if you say it was yours they'll let you have it back."

Misaki nodded and slipped her hand into Maeko's and gave it a squeeze. She smiled brightly, "I'm so glad I have you around Maeko-chan. I really wouldn't know what to do at times. You're so smart and confident."

The younger girl let out a little sigh, "If you think so, but I mean. It's so weird what happened. I want to know why Sato-san had to die."
