Who: Renju and Kou.
What: Renju does some legitimate note-passing.
Where: Classroom 2-B.
When: Wednesday after school.
Why: Resolving a case of "mistaken" identity.

After class, Renju would normally pack up her things quickly and disappear, off to her normal activities while most people hung around and chatted. She had too much to do to idle around for no reason--studying, her clubs, and now Paradise had been added to that list as well.

Which meant that her hanging around now, as though waiting for something, drew a couple of curious-but-brief glances. Her bag was slung over her shoulder as usual, and she had a neatly-folded piece of paper in her hand, which she was tapping idly against her desk in an irregular rhythm.

When the crowd of students had cleared out a little, she took another look at the note in her hand, squared her shoulders, and approached the rightful recipient. "Excuse me, Oubai-san?" she asked quietly.

Kouchisei looked up to see who wanted him. He was confronted by Renju, and quietened because he didn't know her. He at least knew Reizo with enough enmity to drop niceties. But he needed to go home so he couldn't talk for long - his voice came out rushed, "Do you want something? I have to go so I'm afraid I can't stay for long."

It really was almost like looking into a mirror, now that she was talking to him. His face was a little longer, his eyes a little narrower, his hair a little neater--and there was, of course, the ever-present height difference--but there it was. It was, if she was to be perfectly honest, a little disconcerting.

"I believe this is for you." She offered the note to him, the many colors of ink peeking faintly through the paper. "The girl who gave it to me seemed very pleased with her own joke," she added, her expression a little sour. "I haven't read any of it besides the name."

Kouchisei had never spoken to Renju. He hadn't paid her attention, judging it favourble he kept a friendly distance from his classmates, and so hadn't noticed the odd similarities. She was quiet, short, dark-haired. Those were the only observations needed to make.

So when she handed him a note - what read like a love letter - he did what any version of himself would have. Stood still not knowing what to make of the whole affair.

"Uh, how did you get this?" he asked, unfolding it.

"A girl gave it to me while I was by the lockers this morning. Or... not so much 'gave' as 'stuffed into my hand and ran away laughing'."

Renju shrugged. She wasn't going to speculate, and it probably wasn't really important. "I thought I should pass it on instead of throwing it away."

Kouchisei thought back to the notes he'd been geting in his locker. He turned it over in his hands. It was the same - same paper, and same handwriting. His eyes widened a little. He lifted it to his face and smelled the paper to be sure. There was no mistaking it.

"Oh."

It was quickly followed by, "Thanks."
