ICE CREAM
Who: Maeko, Shiori
What: Ice cream!
Where: Kigakiga
When: Sometime during the week after the trip. After school
Why: Because Maeko gets paid to be there and Shiori wants to have the weirdest triple cone ever.

Kigakiga was getting more crowded. Hardly surprising, it was nearly june already. The bulky strawberry costume was far too warm even now and the weather was only going to get warmer.

Oh well, employment was employment and she needed the money, now more than ever. If she lasted until summer then at least the shop'd be too crowded to easily fire her if she had to go into that world on short notice again. The boss wasn't mad at her any more, at least. The door opened, making a rell ring behind it and pulling her out of her thoughts.

"Good afternoon! May I serve you?" She chirped in an overly sugary tone from behind a counter full of ice cream.

Shiori had been craving ice cream all week. Ever since coming back from the camping trip, actually. But with the recent murder, her parents had wanted her to babysit her siblings instead of entrusting them to the more-than-capable hands of the local daycare. It was such a pain. But at least she got money from it, and now that she had free time she was going to get the ice cream she so desperately wanted.

To say she was in a good mood was putting it lightly. She practically skipped her way to and into Kigakiga. Oh, she could almost taste the ice cream..!

Luck definitely seemed to be on her side, for as soon as she entered the establishment Akuba greeted her. Not only was it a classmate (and a teammate) but there wasn't a line~ It really was a great day today!

"Akuba-san!" she greeted. Not bothering to look down at the selection, she practically sang as she ordered, "Crab, wasabi, and indian curry, please! A waffle cone, and with cheese sprinkled on top!"

Crab, wasabi, and indian curry was her OT3 of the ice cream pairings. And adding cheese to it was like a cigarette after sex.

"Ah, Wakanata-san!" Maeko said, about to say something and then stopping, arms still in the air, trying to get her head around the order.

The...waffle cone was normal at least.

"Um, one second..." She said, moving back and openning a door behind her.

"Boss! Do we have cheese as a topping? A customer's asking for it!" She yelled into the area behind the door. She really, she told herself, shouldn't be too surprised that the response was 'third fridge on the right'.

She crouched to check the fridge. It wa quite the achievement, considering the costume.

"Um," she began, standing only a little so her head was just above counter-level. "Grated cheese or slices?"

Beaming, Shiori watched as Akuba turned around to go hunt down her demands. It was then that she finally looked up at the menu and the selections the place had. It really did have everything; it was wonderful. Hot sauce as a topping... oh, she'd definitely have that with mint and tulip ice cream next time she came here. So good~

Flicking her gaze over to the door Akuba had yelled towards when she heard said girl's voice, Shiori went to look down at the various tubs of ice cream flavors. They even had fried chicken ice cream! And... and was that sea salt ice cream?! No, she had to look away! Otherwise she'd come home with a bunch of ice cream and her siblings would eat it all! She had to save it for herself!

Looking up when Akuba peeked her head back up, Shiori blinked.

"Grated!" she said determinedly, before softening. "If that wouldn't be too much trouble~"

Nevermind her whole order was probably a lot of trouble. How often would people order curry ice cream? Or wasabi? Or crab? Or a combination of the three?

"It's no trouble." Maeko chirped, putting down the cheese slices and taking a bag of grated cheese instead. She assembled the bizzare order slower than she might have put together another, allowing at least some time for Shiori to decide she didn't want to strange combination.

When she was done, she put the cone into the holder so that Shiori could take it on the other side.

"That'll be 420 yen, please!" She said, still not entirely sure about the ice cream. Oh well, it was Shiori who was going to be eating it.

Ice cream, ice cream~! It was with a strong will that Shiori managed to resist doing grabby hands as she watched Akuba create Shiori's dream dessert and then put it in the holder. Snatching it up as soon as Akuba moved her hand away, Shiori immediately began to lick at the treat even as she somehow dug through her pockets for the right amount of yen.

"It's so good, Akuba-san~!" Shiori sang between licks. "Thank you so much~!"

Hearing the bells on the door chime as more customers came in, Shiori beamed at Akuba.

"I'll see you later!" she said before turning and walking out slowly and carefully lest her ice cream tumble to the ground.
