Who: Maeko, Toru
What: Fix this.
Where: School.
When: After he's out of hospital, before trip.
Why: Maeko broke the school website.

It wasn't Maeko's fault. She had told them she had no idea how to use the software and they'd told her to use it anyway. It was their own fault the school website was down.

Except they wouldn't see it that way and with Retsu now an enemy she couldn't afford to screw up. She needed to keep her place on the student council and that meant doing well enough that she could call unfairness on any of Gendou's attempts to remove her.

So she found herself waiting outside the first year classroom. Toru owed all of them, big. Hopefully he'd be cooperative enough not to mention that he'd had to fix it. And he liked computers, that surely meant he could fix a stupid website.

"Ishinomori-san." She said, catching him as he left the room. "Can you help me with something?"

Toru jumped a little as he heard Maeko's voice. Yes, she was part of the investigation team, and therefore an ally, but she was still intimidating. Plus, he'd heard what his Shadow-self had done to the group. He doubted that they'd be fully willing to forgive him quite yet.

"A-akuba-sempai! H-hello!" He gulped a little. "You need my help with something?" He doubted that he'd be able to get out of this situation easily, anyway. What could she possibly want with him?

"You know how to use computers, right?" She asked. He had better know how to use computers after all that. It hadn't occured to Maeko that playing games and fixing websites had very little in common. "Something's happened to the school website and I can't fix it, could you try?"

He paused. Didn't she realize that living on the internet was a far cry from actually knowing how to fix a website? No matter. It would be worth at least a shot.

"Uh... sure, I know computers... I'll take a look at it." Toru made a vaguely uncomfortable face after that. "But I can't guarantee anything."

Better than nothing, Maeko supposed.

"Thanks." She said, nodding. She set off walking toward the library, expecting Toru to follow.

He followed after her to the library. Not a good sign, he thought. School library computers weren't exactly the best quality.

"You're welcome. By the way... what exactly is wrong with the website?"

She's forgotten to close a html tag.

"I don't know. Aren't you supposed to be the one who's good with this stuff?" Maeko asked, she was irritated with the internet more than she was with Toru but at least the website wasn't asking stupid questions. "It looks all weird..."

She pointed at the screen, annoyed. The school website's (already somewhat poor) layout was broken and looked bad.

Looking at the screen, he sighed. Somehow, Maeko had managed to mess up the coding for the page. Badly. It was mostly formatting errors, but dear god was it unfortunate-looking. Toru quickly sat down, and began to work immediately.

"Hmm, this isn't too complicated, thankfully. Even a newbie like me can figure out stuff like this..." He quieted down, apparently busy typing. "Err, so... how did you manage to do this? I thought they taught people how not to make mistakes like this one."

"I don't know." Maeko said again. "I just typed up what they told me to and put it in there."

She sighed, irritated. "I'm wanting to do psychology. I never thought I'd need to use anything more complex than spreadsheets so I never learned."

"You should check for mistakes before updating, though," he murmured, half to Maeko, half to himself. Toru was already starting to get lost in his work.

Then, a shocked look spread across his face. "Nothing more complex than spreadsheets? Akuba-sempai... in today's technological society, that's not enought. I don't want to be condescending or anything, but... er..." He was genuinely confused that someone could be as computer-illiterate as her in this day and age.
