WHO: Toru and Yoshimi WHAT: Brochats WHERE: The garden WHEN: Some indeterminate time during the team's stay in the Butterfly House WHY: Clearing the air.
Toru wasn't sure how he'd come to this point, but he was actually feeling something not unlike the sensation of cabin fever. At some point, he'd grown sick of wandering between his computer and his own balcony and tired of fiddling around with video games when he was already on edge. With their friends and classmates held captive, how could he stay calm and in one place?
But, as he reasoned, being calm in a crisis is generally a beneficial asset. And by that logic he realized that he should calm down and perhaps spend a little time out of his room before he did something rash or stupid. Flying off the handle or breaking down would be a problem for everyone living there. So powered on by the jitters in his nerves, Toru proceeded out of his room and into the center of the butterfly house to look for a place where he could calm the fuck down.
If he were someone like Masami or Tom, he'd have gone for the gym, but he most assuredly wasn't. Toru crossed that off the mental list. The pool and the game room would definitely be occupied and not all that calming, especially the latter. The kitchen wouldn't be that helpful, either. But there was also the garden, Toru remembered. Hardly anybody went out there, as it was hardly an eventful location. Perfect for relaxing in.
The boy darted through the door and out into the perpetually springlike garden. This wasn't his first time here, but this was the first time he actually intended to explore the place or even spend an extensive period of time there.
So befitting his mood and energy, Toru made the executive decision to lie down in the shade of one of the blossoming trees like a useless lump so he could soak up the atmosphere.
