TEAM MEETING
Who: Everyone
Where: Butterfly House/common room
When: Night of arrival
What: Team Meeting
Why: There's stuff to say.

Kiriko stood at the head of the room, in front of the unlit fireplace, arms folded across her chest as she waited for the last few people to settle in.

"Before we start," she began, eyes following the last of the kitchen stragglers as they entered the room. "I just wanted to say... I was wrong, that time. Running away wouldn't have gotten us anywhere. But, I don't think that fighting would have helped, either. It was a mess, and I'm sorry for my part in it."

The apology was sincere, but her posture vaguely defensive as she scanned the room, waiting either for someone else to speak up or for enough silence to pass that she could move on.

Kozue had taken up position on the couch, the capital C Couch, with her legs tucked up underneath her, and pajamas and slippers on. They weren't even her pajamas, but the Butterfly Room--House--Place, whatever, seemed intent on providing things that would please her, and the fluffy slippers and comfortable-yet-chic-and-obviously-designer loungewear was no exception.

She looked around the room in the silence, trying to decide whether to say something, to be forgiving, to be accusatory, to be holier than thou above it all, but she simply wasn't sure. Impulses pulled her every which way. After a moment's hesitation, she took the path that seemed best; if she was supposed to understand other people, or, whatever that thing had said to her, why not try?

"It was a bad situation, and, I don't think anyone really comes out looking clean." Even Kozue. "Forgive and forget, and, we should focus on what we do next."

Toshimi sat in an armchair. When Kiriko spoke she placed a pensive hand to her chin. "I'm sorry, too. I made what I thought might have been the best decision at the time, but..." She frowned, looking around at all the team members. "There were no good decisions to be made. I thought it would be more like retreating than running, but..."

"Kondo-san's right. What's past is past. We make our own way from here on out."

The common room had bean bags, and one of them was so massive, and so white, that Reizo had taken it for granted that it was his. After all, the shorter members probably couldn’t do anything but lay in it, and the midgets might very well get swallowed entirely by it.

Reizo lounged in what he could only think of as the king bean bag, long legs stretched out ahead of him and crossed at the ankles, and watched the group, dark eyes sweeping over them curiously for any signs of rankling at Kiriko’s apology. He was otherwise silent, perhaps conspicuously so, clouded in thought and cigarette smoke.

Toru was situated on another one of the beanbag chairs, which was naturally too small for him. His long legs stuck out awkwardly towards the center of the room, but he made the most of his seating arrangement and settled deeper into said chair.

He looked over at Kiriko, trying to parse her apology, and then at the other two who had spoken.

"Well," Toru quietly started, "I... I'm sorry, too. After we talked to that shadow, it was obvious- neither of the options the angel gave us was right. They divided us when we needed to stay together most."

At this, he drew his legs in and held them close, awkwardly compacted on top of the squishy chair. "...and I really helped divide us. 'm sorry."

Gulp. "...'m especially sorry to you, Shirai-san. I said some dumbass things to you near the end- a-and I definitely deserved to get punched."

Reizo sat in silence, cigarette end burning brightly, smoke drifting lazily out of the corner of his mouth. He made no immediate response, no gesture, just seemed to retract deeper into king bean bag and let the quiet drag out, eyes not focused on any of the group now, but staring moodily at anything that didn’t seem to be sentient.

Kouchisei walked into the room once he felt comfortable enough, a studious gaze casting left to right over those assembled. He said nothing about the situation, but he sure looked to be thinking about it. Looking around, he took some reading material off the shelf and sat down to read something he hoped would make things seem better.

He looked over at those nearby, thinking of what to say. It hadn't felt good to realise his emotions had been played with.

What Toru said about deserving punishment made him clasp his hands and rest his chin. He pressed a finger to his forehead, sighed, and looked at Kiriko. It had taken a lot for her to say that in public.

Tom stood quietly in the corner of the room. He had exchanged his school uniform for all blacks. He'd also managed to re-arm himself, but felt no need to volunteer the information.

The house still bothered him, and he decided to stay away from any of the furniture which he regarded with a half suspicious gaze.

Yoshimi sat curled up on the couch, oblivious to Tom's reservations about the furniture.

"I'm sorry, too. I did mean what I said about the odds, but..." She shrugged; with everything over and done with, her reasons didn't seem to matter as much as the rift in the group.

"Well, Kondo-san's right. Where do we go from here?"

Renju sat on a cushion in an almost-seiza sort of position, her feet just far enough apart to keep them from cramping. (The cushion was very plush, which helped, and decorated in a tasteful pattern of grey and deep red that Renju found calming.)

"I..." She averted her gaze in a way that she rarely did, save when she used to talk about her dungeon. She hadn't come out of this clean, either. "I'm sorry as well." She shook her head and sighed. "I should have looked deeper..."

She ran a hand through her hair; her Millennium City counterpart (?) had kept it in even worse shape than she typically did, and her fingers found a few knots, to her mild dismay. "We need to plan. If Tachibana-san's estimation was right, we have no chance as it is. If the angels have a weakness, it needs to be found." A pause as she thought of the boy in the prison, whose face she barely noticed but whose presence had resonated curiously with her. Now she understood. "But I think we can act in small ways without bringing them all down on us."

As Isao had just sort of plopped down on the floor by the couch, he leaned against the arm and let out a quiet sigh. His decision back then wasn't anything he regretted. Had he the decision to make over again, he still wouldn't have chosen to just give everything up like that. In fact, he had remembered trying to get them to think of another way around things to begin with. He would never make any move that didn't feel right to him, even if it meant he was in the wrong. And... well, obviously he wasn't that far from wrong. Though it wasn't for him to say that things would've been different if they had all made the decision to fight. And he would be the last person to say that there wasn't some good in what happened, too.

Either way, he had absolutely no intention of apologizing for his behavior back then, but he did nod in some sort of agreement and perk up a bit with interest at Renju's comment. "Like chipping away at their infrastructure before facing them head on?"

"We're off to a good start. We are the thing they fear the most in the world, and none of their efforts to deal with us so far have worked. They're showing how afraid they are. Now they're rounding up our parents and classmates, anyone who might have contact with us." He glanced around, wondering how much they had tested the bounds of their new "fortress."

"Unfortunately for us, all of our advantages have come from our mysterious benefactor. I'm not keen on relying on that... at all really. I'm working on anti-angel strategies, but in the meantime... Our first order of business is to rescue those innocent people. I've almost got the prison mapped out, but that's one step in a long list of things that need done."

It is at this moment that one of the doors to the exit bursts open and a very familiar looking cat in a samurai outfit floats through.

"Yocchan!" it shouts, in a very familiar voice.

"Yocchan! You're here, right? I was so worried about you, Yocchan! I sent you like 37 texts and then the next thing I knew your face was on all of these billboards about how you were a public enemy! Kei, too! I hear he's with you now, along with all those other people you were hanging out with?

Oh, right, that's the other thing. So after all these bulletins went up and an alarm sounded they started rounding people up! I was one of the first taking in, some Dominions got me, I totally fought them though and I got this badass scar but, like, don't ask to see it because it might be healed by the time I see you again. But, um, they started by taking in people who were close to all of you, and then... Well, it seems like half of Nanakamado has arrived. They said anybody with a record got rounded up and thrown in, along with anybody who didn't pledge allegiance or do it correctly or something like that.

This place is packed, and they're taking people in rounds for questioning... and other stuff. They didn't spend a lot of time with me, I guess because I scared them or something, but they're grilling everybody about you and the others. I don't know what you and Kei and them did, but you got them freaked. They're calling you traitors and Disciples of Raphael. I don't know how that's even possible, but...

Anyway, I'm locked up, but I'm safe. Kojima-senpai and Yoshida-senpai are here, too, and this other kid who I don't know. Calls himself Mikio Seiji, and get this - he says he knows you. Not only that, but he's the one who taught me this trick to get a message to you! Says it's called a Persona - pretty cool, huh? Once he showed me how to call it, I somehow knew where you'd be, but I couldn't tell you where a location is, or anything like that... Anyway, it's pretty wild, but he said you can do this thing too! Why didn't you ever teach me, Yocchan? Kei, I can't believe you were holding out on me!"

There is a pause, and what sounds almost like background chatter.

"Oh, right, the Thrones are coming, I better wrap this up: Mikio-kun says he can help you. He showed me how to send messages, so I bet that's the truth. He says he'll send more information, but that you shouldn't do anything rash. Apparently there will be a good opportunity in a few weeks... I don't really know what he means by that, but I'll send word as he fills me in.

Lots of love, Yocchan. Kei! Take care of Yocchan for me, will you? And to the rest of you Disciples of Raphael: I bet you guys are totally badass. Shingo out!"

At the conclusion of this message, Neko Shogun gives a little bow, and waits.

Toru looked dumbfounded, or perhaps flabbergasted.

"H-hey, Tachibana-san, i-isn't that-"

He stared for several seconds at the cat, trying to process what it said. "W-wait, all of that is seriously happening? I saw those posts on the network, but now all of those guys are imprisoned?"

The otaku bounded to his feet a moment later. "W-wait, Neko Shogun, is a guy named Takagi Noboru there? Is he okay?"

Yoshimi just nods at Toru's question; it's another long moment and a series of deep breaths before she manages to find her voice, and when she finally addresses the cat, it's all she can do not to sound completely hysterical.

"I'd have taught you how, I promise, just... things got in the way." Dying, in particular, had served to complicate matters, but that strikes her as such an awkward thing to reveal via magical text messaging. She doesn't trust herself to explain the parts about alternate timelines or pocket dimensions, either, not with her heart busy pounding a million miles a minute and most of her brain preoccupied with the knowledge that the angels have her boyfriend.

"Mikio-kun is trustworthy, and we'll be there as soon as we can find an opening." She has no idea whether or not she's telling the truth, but she'd rather say it than not. "Just hang in there, okay? Lots of love. Don't die or anything." You know, again.

Disciples of Raphael? Kozue's jaw was agape--I mean, this whole thing was shocking, her life had pretty much been a non-stop barrage of shock since they'd gotten their memories back, since even before then, but on top of all that, to be titled a "disciple" of Seiji? Dumpy, meek Seiji?

Ugh, what was life coming to? Curled up on the couch, it took her a few moments to process all of it, which she did, piece by piece. Starting with the most important details, and working her way down; which was why, after another moment, she asked a crucial question.

"…… all of our faces were seriously on a billboard? Tell me they at least used flattering pictures. Please."

About halfway through the message, Kiriko had taken to her nearby laptop rather than standing there in stunned silence. She had about half of what was said recorded, and certainly all of the important notes, including that Yoshimi's dead boyfriend sounded like a complete and utter idiot. With the document saved, she attended to Kozue's question, taking a guess and heading for the governing offices of Millenium City's website.

Sure enough...

"He's right. Come look at this - we're all here." She turned the screen around, displaying a collage of their pictures - mostly from school, desaturated and deliberately picked to be mostly unfriendly-looking - under a large read header: DANGEROUS.

It was a voice he remembered from class. The familiarity was nice, but the message... well, that was not so nice. It was hard to believe even. His grandparents hadn't been involved with him in quite awhile and his parents weren't even in Japan... The closest person he could think of that they might've taken was his roommate. Isao felt a little bad that he never gave him the money he owed, but maybe any grudge his roommate had for that would spare him from whatever danger awaited. The less association the better, right?

Worse yet were the photos of the team apparently plastered everywhere. Isao really did have to wonder if anyone would think of him as dangerous. At least in comparison with some of the others, his stature was usually far from threatening. He gave an almost pouty look, briefly rustling with his hair and wondering if the color sent any bad signals. It was forgotten quickly enough though.

"How long is a few weeks going to be?" He didn't think he would mind being stuck here for a certain amount of time, but figuring out exactly how long would've been nice. "Will we be able to do anything between now and then?"

Tom ran a hand over his face, then crossed his arms.

"That is what I meant when I said "We are the thing they fear the most in the world"" Then he quirked a brow.

"You guys didn't... realize this would happen? ...Yeah I guess the efforts of insurgency wouldn't be a top reading priority. Like I said, I'm working on a plan, but this is going to take... subtly and effort." He looked at Yoshi.

"Tell him to keep calm, make sure no one tries anything. We'll be handling this eventually, but for right now... Iburi is dangerous for every single person in it."

At the sight of his mug shot, even more unflattering than usual (which was quite a feat, considering the person in question), Toru crossed his arms and sulked.

"This isn't right. This just... really isn't right." He pinched the bridge of his nose in frustration, looking down at the floor. "Are our friends and everyone going to be okay in that prison? I'm guessing they won't throw them into Paradise like they did to us, but I doubt the loved ones of Millenium City's Most Wanted are going to get preferential treatment there or anything."

He thought of Noboru and Isamu in particular, but remembered that they weren't the only ones who would be in the prison. Classmates, family members, Shingo, and even jerks like Kajiko were apparently in there.

"We need to rescue them as soon as this opportunity comes, then. And..." The boy gestured again at the word DANGEROUS on Kiriko's screen. "Did we ever hear why we're the most dangerous fugitives in this city, exactly?"

Misaki grimaced glancing over Kiriko's shoulder and frowned at the picture muttering, "They could have at least not used the one where I was just getting over that head cold."

"It's obvious - they're counting on us wanting to come and save our friends," Kai said in answer to Misaki. "So they'll be ready to fight us when we come."

There was no question what Kai wanted - the angels had his mother, his father, his boyfriend, his classmates. If he could have, he would've bolted for the prison right now, but...

He swallowed. "So there's no point in rushing in without a plan."

He looked to Tom. "What else needs to be done before we can go?"

Tom folded his arms and looked at Kai.

"A lot. This isn't going to be easy and it's going to be exceptionally dangerous."

He frowned for a moment.

"It is a trap. And all the people they've taken are the bait... but why would they take them, they control the whole city. They know we aren't that much of a threat so... unless they already know they can't find us."

"Either way, they've locked down down all the communication. Before we can even try and attack we're going to need a way to get them out of Iburi, and that's not even considering the plans we still need to work on." Tom looked at Yoshi.

"And until we have a plan, and we're ready, the more risks they take, the worse this can get. If they find out he's a persona user... or if they have any indication that they could use him to find us, or they could get us to come out of hiding by attacking the people any of us care about the most..."

The samurai cat had been weird and then Kou had seen his poster, looking grim and frustrated much like his photograph. It wasn't until he had seen it that he had realised how standoffish he could look.

He frowned briefly.

"Um, I don't know..."

Suddenly, he really wanted to return to his room. He put his hands together and finished quickly, "Not being able to find us might be telling them exactly where we are."
