Isao took a moment to laugh and shrug his shoulders at Kei's reaction. "It's fine. I'm pretty sure it's not just me thinking this way, but I joined in later than the others. Haven't bothered to figure out how much later, but it was later in the summer. I've sort of just been on the sidelines until recently." Was it recently? It had been a few weeks since they came for him in that place. Maybe, anyway... With all of the world changes, time was just too difficult to keep up with and he wasn't about to sit down and really think it out. Either way, recently sounded a bit better than outright saying not too long before the world had been turned upside down and backwards.
"I don't mean to say that I don't think we're close as a group. I really like everyone here," he corrected. "I just mean that... I don't think our closeness as a group has anything to do with all of us being best friends. I feel comfortable here and I feel that I can generally trust most everyone, but at the same time I couldn't really say I've even sat down and had a normal conversation with everyone. Sooo, yeah, you shouldn't feel too left out."
