Who: Kanaye and Keiichi, possibly other people
What: Lists!
Where: School cafeteria
When: Lunch
Why: Because Kanaye needs a second opinion.

Kanaye was sitting at one of the cafeteria tables. He had no idea why. He actually forgot to take his lunch today, or to be more accurate, the person that usually does his lunch was sick, and like hell he was gonna try his mother's cooking, especially next to all of his classmates. That stuff tastes nasty. Actually, now that he thought about it, Kanaye realized that, if he had shown some of the girls his lunch and said that his mother made it, and that he'd have to eat it for a while, the girls would probably be tripping over himself trying to make his lunch for him. He doubted it was much better, but it'd get them interested in him, which could lead to all sorts of possibilites. Maybe he'd actually get lucky and have a girlfriend for more then a month, and maybe they'd actually do something about it.

Kanaye let out a bitter laugh, which caused the people sitting next to him to look at him weirdly. After convincing them he wasn't going insane, he started contemplating. Would it be better to keep up his current life-style? Or maybe just stick with one? It was a weird thought to Kanaye, but he was open to new ideas.  If he was going to make himself a one-woman guy, he'd need to pick the right one. And in order to pick the right one, he'd need to have a second opinion. And who else does he know that has as much an interest in girls that he does?

Naturally, a little bit later, Kanaye found himself in front of the Cooking Club door. He had no idea if Keiichi would actually be inside, but even if he wasn't, there was probably someone else who could tell him where the other boy was. And if there wasn't anybody there, he could at least take some of the food, or maybe make some of it himself. Knocking on the door, he opened it a little.
"Hello?" He asked, peeking his head in, seeing if anyone was there. "Anybody home?"

There was, in fact, someone home in the Cooking Club room. "Yeah, come on in," Ito Keiichi said, before really realizing whose voice it was. He'd finished his lunch and was reading a cookbook, so no real reason to deny entrance to someone. Probably a club member. Or so he hoped.

"Oh..." his voice trailed off, as he suddenly realized who it was. "To what do I owe this visit, senpai?"

Kanaye, happy that Keiichi was in the club, practically skipped in. "Hello, Ito-kun! I trust that you're fine?" Kanaye clapped his hands together when Keiichi asked for the reason for his visit. "I have a VERY~ important question to ask you! I need some research, you see, and you're the only one that can help!" He announced.

"Research," the younger student asked, a dubious expression on his face. What sort of research could Kanaye possibly need his help on? Something to do with cooking? He *was* apparently the only one who could help.

"Okay, I'll bite," Keiichi finally said. "What's up?"

"Simple! I'm..." Kanaye started before trailing off. He doubted Keiichi would believe his story, and he would probably take the best girl for himself, anyway. So, Kanaye had to make sure that Keiichi thought that whatever Kanaye did, Keiichi wouldn't lose out. So...
"I'm making a list of the best girls in our group! And I wanted a second opinion, and everyone else would refuse to participate!" Oh yeah, Kanaye was smooth~.

Dot dot dot.

Keiichi looked at Kanaye for several moments, before realizing that the smile on the older student's face plus the lit up look in his eyes meant that Kanaye was serious.

"...you're not joking about this, are you?"

He sighed. Nonetheless, he knew Kanaye was a persistent person. Turning him down wouldn't get him to go away. "Fine, fine, I'll give you a second opinion. This is really wrong though, you know that?"

"Not at all! Not at all, Ito-kun." Kanaye laughed and clapped Keiichi on the shoulder. "And Keiichi, if I cared what was wrong and what was right, do you think I would flirt with everything? Seriously man, I'd think it was obvious~!" Kanaye started laughing some more. Instantly after that, however, Kanaye's face became really serious.
"All right, we'll start off with an easy one. Misaki. Now, she's cute, nice, very good at cooking, and protective. That gives her a high place. However, I can't say she's number 1, because Maeko will castrate me in my sleep if I try to go that far with her. Thoughts?" Kanaye asked.

Kanaye did have a point. The elder of the two didn't really care about things like that. Not one bit.

Keiichi kept a neutral expression as Kanaye discussed his second in command in the Cooking Club. Going over them person by person, he thought, wasn't the best way to do this.

"Give me the entire list you have," the chef finally said, "in order. We can debate the positives and negatives from there."

Yeah, Keiichi happened to have done this mental exercise a time or two. He was a high school boy. Such things were to be expected.

Kanaye briefly glared at the younger boy, then started smiling again. "All right, all right, sheesh. You have a point though, it's probably for the best. You've done this before, haven't you?" Kanaye leaned it close for a dramatic scrutinizing, then shrugged his shoulders. "All right, in order:
Shiori, Misaki, Toshimi, Kozue, Kiriko, Maeko. Any objections?" He asked cheerfully.

At the official statement of "The List", Keiichi scratched at his chin in thought for a few moments. "Hrmm. I can see where you're coming from with that list. I suppose, though, that I take a purer approach to the question. I'm an idealist at heart, after all."

Leaning closer to his senior, the names came spilling out of Keiichi's mouth in a low whisper. "Misaki. Kozue. Kiriko. Shiori. Toshimi. Maeko. Not that any of those options are bad, mind you. My list doesn't take into account the Maeko situation, nor some of the other realistic problems."

Kanaye nodded. This man knew what he was doing, though he was very idealistic about availability, whether or not the girl would be faithful, and competition. "Yeah. Kozue seems to be a kind of girl that tries it once, then never touches them again, but she is hot. Why is Kiriko so high though?" Kanaye asked, frowning. "She's good-looking, I'll give you that, but she's so frigid she can probably keep a soda cold just by holding it...which would be REALLY awesome, by the way."

"My list sort of tries to balance a lot of things." Keiichi frowned momentarily. Having this sort of discussion really, really sort of made him uncomfortable, particularly having it with Kanaye, of all people.

"Call it a hunch, but I feel like Kiriko would be the sort to have a long term relationship with, if someone can melt the ice. It's a guess, but for some reason, I have faith in it. I tend to be a long term relationship sort of guy, so..."

He couldn't quite explain then why he had Kozue so high, given all the rumors. Probably because she was pretty and he was human. Something like that, anyway.

"Specific." Kanaye deadpanned before regaining his energetic composure for the next few lines. "Yeah, probably. The problem is actually melting the ice, which would be rather hard, verging on impossible!"

"Enough about her, though." Kanaye said as he found a chair to sit in. "Why are Toshimi and Shiori so low? I can see Maeko being really low, but those two? They're energetic, nice, and cute! What's not to like?" he asked, cocking his head to the side.

"Honestly," Keiichi began, "I really don't know Toshimi very well. It's difficult for me to rank her fairly. As for Shiori..."

"She's a friend. A good friend, really. That makes it difficult for me to put her on the list." He considered trying to explain this to Kanaye, but figured it wouldn't help. "She's definitely cute and energetic, yes, but..."

"...You have a point about Toshimi. Does ANYONE know her very well? I mean, all I can think of is "generally nice girl." That's far better then some of the other options, though it night be enough to drop her below Kozue. And as for Shiori...Well, in that case, I could see it would be hard." Kanaye smiled. He had found out who to go after. She seemed to have a crush on Keiichi, but once he told her that Keiichi only viewed her as a friend, it should all work out. Kanaye was almost done, but he had an idea before he said goodbye. "...You know I should probably write this down somewhere. Do you have a pen and some paper?"

"Are you out of your mind? That's a terrible idea." Keiichi wasn't quite sure he liked the smile on Kanaye's face, but then, he was *never* sure he liked that smile. This whole conversation was probably a bad idea, particularly considering possible ramifications.

Including those of having a HANDWRITTEN LIST around. "You want someone to find it one day?"

"Well, honestly I don't care. And if it worries you so much, we could just cut out the characters from a magazine or that cookbook of yours. Or both. We just need to make sure we know what they are, so if any more join us, we could add additions without forgetting. Or change orders, if Maeko stops being creepy and such. Never gonna happen, but that's just an example." Kanaye explained as he started looking through cookbooks and magazines. "Do you have any scissors?"

"Second drawer on the right, if you're going to insist on being silly," Keiichi replied. "That's where we keep the scissors for use on non-food items."

Lord, this was going to be like a bad movie. If anyone ever saw the list, they'd probably think it was a threat. I mean, honestly, who actually DOES the cut out characters routine outside of mysteries or horror films?

Kanaye nodded and walked over to the drawer Keiichi indicated, opening it an picking up a pair of orange scissors. Opening and closing them a few times to see if they worked, Kanaye smiled in satisfaction and started getting to work cutting out characters from a cookbook at random. After finishing, he nodded and started walking out of the room, only stopping at the door to turn around and smile at Keiichi. "Thank you, Ito-kun! I'm appreciative for your help." he said as he started walking out of the classroom.

Kanaye mentally smirked as he heard the lunch bell. He had to make photocopies of this and then 'accidentally' leave it somewhere he knew those annoying girls that gossiped a lot would find it. They'd go crazy, and if someone found out it was he that wrote it? Well, more people paying attention to him, and maybe Shiori would be particularly flattered that he put her above, say, Kozue and Misaki. There was ABSOLUTELY NO WAY this could go wrong. Kanaye started hurrying for his next class. He was failing in his logic class and he wasn't going to miss this test.
