Cleaning up
WHO: 1-B.
WHAT: End-of-day cleaning.
WHERE: Room 1-B.
WHEN: After school.
WHY: Many birds. One rock.

After posting the list of who would be cleaning 1-B that day, Kiriko had reserved the jobs she preferred for herself. The chalkboard and the erasers were messy and she kept well away from both of them, wiping desks at the back of the class, taking her time about moving forward. She didn't have anywhere in particular to be - once everyone else had vacated the classroom, she'd probably just drop into a seat and study - not that she needed to. She knew the material the marks were inconsequential, but it was the best excuse she had for avoiding all of the people intent on spending time with her.

Company might not hurt, however.

"All of you still need to study?" she asked with an air of disinterest as she moved up to the next row.

Toru scowled as he wiped down the chalkboard with a wet rag. It figures that whenever I show up to class, I get put on cleaning duty or something stupid like that. I hate this. His work, consequently, was haphazard and messy. Between patches of damp board, random half-finished characters and fragmented sentences still stood out in white chalk.

He looked back to the girl who was talking. "...studying? No thank you." His reply was barely audible. Why even bother? He just wanted to rush home and get back online, to forget about all of this.
