Finding a wallet!
WHO: Isao, Toshi, and whoever else wants to jump in
WHAT: Y HALO THAR WALLET
WHERE: Some small park conveniently close to the school and/or shopping area.
WHEN: Sometime after dorm reopening.
WHY: Because I need to thread more and being terrible is fun.

His first day back at school went well. For whatever reason his roommate was happy to see him. In all honesty? He was kind of glad to see him again, too, as if seeing him helped him remember a time when he wasn't involved in any sort of mess. He tried ignore what had happened over the break and just go on with his normal routine from there. He found himself going on a casual walk, and then laying on a comfortable bench in the park. Simple enough. It was a good spot to finally try to get some shut eye.

However, putting everything out of his mind was proving to be a bit more difficult than he had assumed. That dungeon had been pretty rough. He had managed to stay somewhat calm in it, but really... what else could he do? Panicking like an idiot wouldn't have helped anyone. It was all he could do to just be there. A part of him just wished that the people he went into that place with were a little less... He didn't even know. If it were him, he probably would've done the same thing. But he was never the one promising to save people. He was just there. Maybe he just really had a problem with offering up sacrifices when it defeated their original intention.

Isao sighed and sat up on the park bench. He leaned his head against the backing and looked up at the clouds. It seemed like a perfectly normal day, but sleep was just something that wasn't going to happen.

Toshimi had wanted to go jogging through the park, but her legs still hurt too much from moving back into the dorms and from what had happened in Paradise. So she walked. Slowly. Even though baseball season was over, it was more important than ever for her to keep in shape, as had been demonstrated. If she prepared, she could be in shape to keep horrible things from happening, right? But then, in Paradise, it never seemed to matter...there was an uncomfortable feeling in the pit of her stomach.

In some ways, even without baseball to distract her, she was glad to be back at the school. At least Toshi didn't have to worry about her uncle discovering the school's closing (although really, it'd been a miracle that he hadn't in the first place) since it was open again. And, for the most part, Toshi liked school, although that was probably only because she was good at it. "Good at school" was a personality trait, right? She shook her head; she'd proven something about herself back there, fighting that wolf, so she didn't have to worry, right? She just didn't know what it was, exactly, that she'd proven. That she could throw knives at animals, maybe. It was only at the quiet, nothing-to-think-about moments like this that thoughts like that even occurred to her anymore. If she had something to focus on, she could move forward.

And so, the vaguely-familiar face of Isao was a welcome sight. "Shimohama-senpai?" She really hadn't seen much of him, and he was in the year above her, so she wasn't immediately positive of his identity, but she waved once she was sure he was someone she knew. She approached his bench. "Good afternoon," she nodded her head politely. "How are you doing?" It was just an everyday, habitual greeting--it was only after she'd said it out loud that she realized the answer would either be unpleasant or dishonest.

The voice was a familiar one, but not necessarily one he knew to acknowledge at first. All he knew right away was that she was definitely one of them. It was just a matter of which one. He tilted his head curiously to get a glance at who had called him before leaning up and really looking toward her.

She definitely wasn't the worst person he could've ran into, so he gave a quick wave of hello. In fact, when he thought about it, he had never really spent much time with her outside of their adventures in that place. Not that that didn't go for the bulk of that grup. Seeing her in the park was just another big reminder to him that he couldn't exactly put everything out of his mind so easily. Even if he tried and failed by himself, he had them popping up anyway. It was no big deal though. He didn't have much of a problem with her, after all. Plus, she earned bonus points with him when she kicked the television.

"I'm doing," Isao replied with a casual nod. That was pretty much the only way to describe it, but it wasn't like it was a feeling he hadn't been used to. "What about you? Glad to be back at school?" It was meant as a simple response, really. Though the irony in those sorts of questions did cross his mind.

Toshi had been expecting to hear either a stiff 'I'm fine' or, maybe, some statement about their last adventure that would probably just be upsetting. There was something pleasantly surprising about Isao's reply; she grinned a little. Just doing.

"I'm all right," she shrugged noncommittally. There was a pause. She actually suspected that she had been doing fairly well compared to a lot of her teammates. It had been disturbing, but...maybe she wasn't addressing it, she realized, maybe--- Focus. Move forward. "Actually, I am kind of glad to go back," she said, eager to move on. "I don't want to fall too far behind students at other schools, although going to Nanakamado in the first place puts us all pretty far ahead." Her eyes flashed off to one side as her mind went back to her old school again, but only for a second. "How about you, senpai? Are you taking entrance exams soon?"

"Yeah? That's a good attitude to have about it." He was genuine in his answer, not sarcastic. That was certainly the truth and much better than the other answers he could've thought of. Priorities were a wonderful thing to have. It was good for her, not so good for him.

He was glad to be back at school, but for different reasons than her own. So, when she brought up entrance exams he looked a little surprised. "It's around that time, huh?" Entrance exams for university were the very last thing on his mind. He hadn't put the least bit of thought into the matter. And that wasn't even an exaggeration. In all honesty, he didn't want to go and he didn't see the point in going. What would he even do when he got there? Isao gave a wry grin scratched the back of his head. Better just avoid that subject altogether.

"So were you heading anywhere?"

She nodded, "Thanks." He seemed to be a pretty pleasant guy, this Isao. Most of the other guys on the team were so...Toshi didn't have much of a better word for it, crazy. It was refreshing.

His surprised registered with her, but she took it as more of an indication that he wasn't keeping much track of time than anything else. "Yep," she said, "Just about getting there..." But he didn't seem to have anything to say about it, and she was just going by what she knew about him (he was a third year), so she didn't say anything more about it.

"Heading anywhere? Ah, not really," she shook her head, "I was just trying to work some of the ache out of my legs." She tilted her head towards his bench, "Are you waiting for someone, senpai?"

He nodded to what she was saying. While he never actually understood the full concept of walking when you had aches in your legs, it did usually help. General walks were good for a lot of things.

"Nah, I was just trying to catch some sleep," he explained for his bench situation, though it probably would've seemed more normal to lie about waiting for someone. It was a very futile attempt to sleep on his part, but he really never bothered to explain. When he did they usually gave him odd looks for trying to sleep on a public bench in the first place.

With not being able to sleep he figured he may as well head back to the dorms... soon-ish. Isao's head tilted upward in thought for a moment before looking back at Toshimi. Well, he had wanted to spend more time with normal people. All things considered, this was probably as close as he was going to get to that sort of thing while being a part of that group. He stood up from the bench, hands in pockets, motioning her to lead the way. "You'll be heading back to the dorms eventually I'm guessing, so I'll just go with you?"

"Sleep?" Toshi tilted her head inquisitively towards his bench out of reflex, but tried to keep from sounding too confused. She left the in public? unspoken. He'd said it like it was normal enough, so maybe he had a good reason. Either way, Toshi wasn't about to become the type of person to point out weird habits in others.

She looked up at him as he stood; he was taller than she was, on his feet. "Sure," she nodded, "I'd be glad for the company."

There weren't a lot of people around in the park as they started their walk through, and it was oddly peaceful considering that they were in the middle of such a big city, and considering everything that had happened, that might happen. Was Toshi avoiding it all, if she put it out of her mind for just that moment to enjoy walking? She still didn't really know; she looked down at her feet.

She'd almost stepped on some object, she saw. It was a leather wallet; a thick wallet. She picked it up and looked around, but there was nobody in the immediate area who looked like they'd absentmindedly dropped a wallet, and nobody looking confused and searching for it. Which meant that there would be nobody to complain if...she looked up at Isao. "It's a wallet," she stated to him. After a moment, she added, "Someone dropped it."

Toshi opened it and started looking for an identification or something, mostly out of curiosity. There was no identification, but there was a lot of cash in it. Maybe even more cash than she'd earned working all summer. Her eyes widened, but she didn't share her thoughts. "Anything else dropped around here, senpai?" Despite her efforts not to reveal how astounded she was, her voice broke a little.
