Who: Noriko and Keiichi
What: A few questions.
Where: Soba Station 77, Noodle Alley
When: After school, sometime after Seiji left his "gift"
Why: Nori needs to get out more.

With the infinite calm and grace of a dove, minus most of the unassuming innocence, Noriko walked to Soba Station 77. He had already gone home after school and changed out of his uniform into a dress more appropriate for his impending activities. Simple, elegant, and clean, like a single lily, or so he liked to think. It was certainly enough to turn the heads of more than a few students along the pedestrian venue, as well as a few people older than students.

Full of the pride born of impressing others, he located the restaurant and took a seat at the bar. SS77 was a hip, new location, a little jarring against the worn and greasy ramen joints on either side of it, full of young couples and hipsters enjoying buckwheat noodles. After admiring this for a few minutes, Noriko shooed a waitress away with an "I'm waiting for somebody" and began to idly toy with his purse. Now all he needed was for Keiichi to arrive.

By contrast, Keiichi generally wore his uniform most places. This was, in part, because most of his wardrobe otherwise consisted of pro-wrestling t-shirts.

SS77 was a new experience for him. It was the sort of place where the hipper crust of Nanakamado students got their noodles; a much better place for a meet than some of the older, less kid known noodle establishments in the alley. Seeing Nanakamado students here wouldn't be suspicious.

That was what he was counting on, anyway.

Having sent a few texts to relevant team members, Keiichi stepped inside, admiring the decor. The waitress Noriko had shooed away glanced from Keiichi back to Noriko, and pointed in the young woman's direction.

Doing his best to retain composure, Keiichi walked the short distance to the bar, and hopped up onto a stool next to the reporter. "How goes," he asked, still not quite sure where this conversation was going to go.

Though Noriko noticed Keiichi out of the corner of his eye, he remained outwardly oblivious until he sat down next to him and spoke. He feigned surprise at the greeting.

"Oh, Ito-kun! I didn't see you come in! The walk here wasn't too bad, was it?" This was followed up with a sweet smile and a concerned look, which were quickly replaced by a sharper, more businesslike one.

"I'm sorry that I had to call you out here, really, but I just couldn't risk being too close to the school to have this conversation! If Ikeda-san overheard, I'd be toast." He waved his hand a bit. "We've spent lots of time together, and I know how she is."

"So, tell me about the Anti-Bullying Club! You all seem awfully busy this year, what with all of the new members and this positive flurry of activity."

It was time for Keiichi to try and play this out. He made no move to look at his phone, or do anything that would otherwise arouse suspicion. Whatever plans people had were likely in place, and he would trust everyone to play their part while he played his.

"Not a bad walk at all, Kojima-san." He flinched a bit at the use of the familiar -kun. Given the treatment he'd received in the Nanakamado papers, Keiichi didn't exactly think the reporter was being particularly friendly. "I make it frequently."

Keiichi looked up at the chalkboard containing the day's specials. Even here, food was a priority.

"How she is?" Keiichi figured that it was a good idea to figure out exactly what Noriko knew, or thought she knew, about Ikeda-san. "And don't worry about it. To be honest, club or no club, I don't really speak with Ikeda-san that much."

That at the very least was gospel.

"As for the club...I don't really understand it, either," Keiichi admitted. "I really didn't until Dad told me about the school's new policy with it."

Noriko smiled, apparently pleased. "I'm glad to know it wasn't too taxing- though that's hardly surprising. You've got a lot more stamina than I do." He then cocked his head. "Oh, and you come here often? I made a good choice, then!"

He hadn't yet looked up to the menu, instead focusing on Keiichi himself. Unconsciously, Noriko ended up fiddling back and forth with his purse.

"You know, she doesn't take kindly to people opposing her, even if they don't intend to. A regular Type-A..." At this, he cut himself off and put a hand over his mouth. "My apologies, I shouldn't say something like that, even about Ikeda-san."

"But... oh, you don't? That's a pity." Noriko appeared to be genuinely disappointed at this revelation. "I thought a guy like you would be more in-charge. After all, you are the most successful president the Cooking Club has ever had. You seem like the leaderly type."

The second half of Keiichi's statement caught his attention more. "A new policy? I'm not a club member, so I hadn't heard anything about that. Care to tell me more? It'd be a good main topic for the article..."

Keiichi didn't really notice Noriko's purse fiddling, because he was busy nervously tapping his foot against the stool.

"Ikeda-san is a Type A, yes," he agreed with her, nodding. "She's pretty capable, though. Good at what she does."

It was a reasonably neutral statement. Things had a way of getting around, after all.

"Being the most successful president the Cooking Club's ever had is damning with faint praise, Kojima-san." Keiichi was slightly irritated, but he'd keep his tone at "slightly irritated." "The Nanakamado paper has done a good job of damning me, be it via faint praise or not."

What to eat? That was an important question to him. Food would calm Keiichi's nerves, which were already on edge.

"I keep telling you it's not so interesting, but if it'll make you happy...they're trying to see how well the club works by having it deal with bullies and the bullied on a regular basis. Club meetings focus on that sort of thing more. That's why we've taken on some...odd members."
