Who: Lucy and Bennett Where: Bennett's place When: Sunday June 27, 10 AM What: Lucy visiting her one and only big brother to make sure he's still alive with her own two eyes.
Nothing had been made official. Not really. Not yet. But Lucy was growing more and more impatient and since the news was already showing that a lot of people were out and about, and Lucy had already defied her grandmother's wishes for them to all stay inside the house once before. Doing it a second time wasn't nearly as hard of a concept for her to swallow, still she was nice enough to let her grandmother know that she was leaving. Part of her wanted to drive up to Alexandria and make sure everyone there was alright, but that would have been a long drive, and she also had a big brother who was very close to them the entire time. Bennett didn't live that far from her own apartment, which she would need to go back to soon anyway. Her cat probably hated her beyond anything words could express at this point, so what would a few more hours hurt at this point anyway? Besides, she still didn't have her keys to her house and until she got a hold of her landlord, getting inside wouldn't exactly be an option. So in reality, it was a very very easy decision for her to make - visiting Bennett first.
Despite the fact that he was the eldest Foster sibling, Lou barely ever let him feel like he was the one who was older. She had been fiercely independent from such a young age, he probably didn't get to do half of the older brother things he would have liked to do for her. Everyone in the family had long ago accepted that Lou rarely did what people expected her to do. They accepted it, but it didn't mean that they all had to like it. Just like now, with how she was rushing to her brother's house when her grandmother would have much rather she stayed. No one was going to stop her from seeing with her own two eyes that her big brother had not become zombie food. Sure, for other people a phone call was enough. But this was Lou Foster - logic rarely played into what she did as she tended to act first and think later. Hopefully Bennett was home and already up.
Even if he wasn't up, he was going to have to because Lucy was already there. Instead of waiting for him to buzz her up, she slipped into the building as one of his neighbors was heading out. Everyone was so grateful to be alive right now that the normally grumpy man even held the door open for her. It was a great day for humanity, those zombies were going down! Now she'd never really have to worry about how much she failed as a zombie hunter again. Of course, she'd never be able to watch a zombie movie again either, but she'd happily take that as the only casualty as long as all of her family was alive. Reaching his door, she knocked twice before calling out. "Bennett, it's your sister! You better let me in!"
