Who: Matthew & Sebastian Where: Wings of Hope When: June 16, 10am What: Matthew needs help with his finances
At the moment, Matthew kind of wished his memory was worse than it already was. He couldn't shake a somewhat selfish feeling of abandonment. He knew the day would come, of course; he couldn't always depend on his now ex-wife to take of things for him. She needed a life of her own.
He had even made it worse by writing it all down. He shifted the stuffed folder in his arms to look over his notes. The hurriedly scrawled words brought a snippet of the conversation back to life.
It's not that I don't like you, Matthew, you know that, right? I never minded handling these things for you even after... you know, the divorce. But I've found someone and it's getting rather serious. So, well, I don't really think it's appropriate for me to handle your finances anymore. Here, take this card. I'm sure someone at this place can help you get everything in order.
He looked at the card he'd used as a bookmark. "Wings of Hope - Financial Services". A placard near the door announced the same. At least it was a small business park, even if all the businesses' fronts looked exactly the same. It wasn't hard to find, even for him.
A rush of cool air made him shiver as he stepped inside. A woman was smiling at him from the receptionist's desk.
"Welcome to Wings of Hope. Is there something I can help you with?"
Matthew shifted uncomfortably.
"Um... yes. My wi... ex-wife said she called ahead for me? I'm Matthew Greene."
The receptionist shuffled some papers on her desk before finding what she was looking for.
"Oh yes, Ms. Smith called yesterday about you. She's already faxed several things over. Let me see if someone is ready for you."
